The nand chip works fine in another console, but I can't boot Hekate. The screen just stays black, no backlight. Also the bsod appeared immediately after pressing the power button.
When I try to boot ReiNX: cdn.discordapp (dot)attachments/596287505737711616/668925943603265546/20200120_221233.jpg
If you put eMMC memory on another switch it will always display only black screen if memory is ok, because the biskey are unique for each Switch. First try a reball at the eMMC. If you still can't let Hekate run then the problem is from Tegra processor and you will have to try one reball or reflow if you have no Reballing Station BGA, stencil and balls.

Well... I have no idea how to do reballing/proper board level repairs. I also never used a hot air rework station before

Then my advice is to look for someone who knows how to do and also has the necessary tools.

Were you able to boot hekate before you reballed your apu? Did memloader work for your?
When did the bsod appear? Did it show the Nintendo logo?

Always reball/resolder these devices with LEADED Solder, all of the new solders that do not have lead, will crack at solder joints..
Also for a rework like this, to make sure BGA seats, you should pre-heat the main board to about 100deg f for about an hour prior to attempting reflow. As for your working temp of 300F, most devices (BGAs anyway) can withstand up to 700F for a few moments. Not sure what max temp is on this BGA but find NVIDIA similar chip and see what its max reow/ramp up is.

THese projects arent for beginners.

Yes i could run Hekate. If you read my first post you will see that i had no problems with eMMC memory. Bsod appears immediately upon startup.

That's right, but don't be worried you will get the correct stencil.

Which variant do I have to buy? The "Direct heating", "80x80" or "90x90" ?

Thanks

maybe @FXDX can answer this question regarding the reballing station, but I'm able to reball/remove/reflow the CPU without any problems with my hot air station AOYUE Int 852. Be aware that you have to use a bigger noozle (IMG_1927.JPG), not a too small one (IMG_1926.JPG) for removing/reballing the CPU. I'm using the small one for the M92T36 or the USB IC, or for iPhones and the bigger one for the CPU.

Hi guys.

I have to reball a tegra chip too, but I have no reballing station.

Is this one a good one:

An infrared or hot air station with temperature control sensors and a profile suitable for the chip you are working on, is what you need for a successful reball. That station from your link. is a "toy" but i think you can work with it on a switch......

Thanks for your support.

Are you using reballing soldering balls(if yes, which size) or do you prefer soldering paste?

From a technical point of view it is possible but it will not be functional. There are several chipsets that need to be "transplanted" from the donor board, to be have a functional switch.
