SO, as the title suggests, I put the HBC on my wii today. this was the easiest thing ive done today.
I downloaded mario party 8(wii game), paper mario the thousand year door and zelda windwaker (paper mario and zelda are both GC), unzipped them to the sd card I installed the HBC with, and even after all that, the games dont show up in the HBC. I downloaded wiimod and wiimod light (both 1.7), and the wiimod light shows mario party 8, but I cant do a freaking thing with it. ive tried downloading four different formats of these games, (iso, wfbs, ntsc and that other one), and if I keep trying without help, cops will be coming to do welfare checks.

please, give me some fekkin advice

Of course, the HBC is not a backup loader (which is actually done by a CIOS, something the authors of the HBC have long vocally been against)

Install a CIOS if you don't already have one (or just do it again anyway) and get an usb loader, such as Configurable or WiiFlow-Lite, usb loaders are homebrews and so they will be appear in the HBC (if placed in the appropriate path)
(Modmii can help you with getting both)

Of course, you must also put your disc backups in the appropriate path (/wbfs/{game name of your choice}/{titleID}.{supported format, usually wbfs} being the standard), I prefer to do it manually but if you really want to automate it there's Wii Backup Manager

Usb:/wbfs/{game name or your choice}/{titleID}.{supported format, like .wbfs)

Note that flash drives generally have poor compatibility. You can try it, but ideally you want an external hard drive formatted as fat32. U can use modmii to set up a USB loader and it will direct you on formatting, where to save games, and even grab wii backup manager for u to use to manage your games.

I believe it's region free. if you encounter resolution issues, I think there's a way to correct it in settings. I've never encountered a game that didn't run or one that caused problems due to resolution.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

this is with both wads and wbfs games. I know you can make wads region free if you have to with showmiiwads, but I don't know about wbfs.

tell me if this sounds right.

if I download a wii or GC rom, it should work regardless of region or whatnot?
