Hi! First of all: Thanks, XFlak. ModMii is indeed kickass'.

As I have problems running Wiiware and VC from other regions in my PAL Wii 4.3e softmodded, I am generating a pl_us nand using Modmii.

The nand generation and all (wad installation etc.) went perfect, except when it came to Sneek installation.

I chose SNEEK+DI as I would like to keep everything from the SD. Neek2o is enabled, I chose rev96 from the server.

I got the following:

"Some downloads are invalid, Missing or were not updated properly. Click Next to Retry"
-> And in the text box below:
"Some files required for neek2o installation are missing. Aborting neek2o installation, check your internet connection then try again. "

My Internet connection is fine (I am using it for writing this post). What could be the error? It seems it comes up when it tries to download sneek 0.7 official installer.

Thank you so much in advance!!!

P.S: I made a screenshot but I'm still not allowed to post it... newbie problems :'D

Ok, digging a bit into it in Classic Mode I realized the problem is not sneek 0.7e installer, but instead UnRAR.
ModMii cannot download unrar.exe for whatever the reason.

Can I download and manually place it in the "temp" folder? (what is the temp folder used by Modmii?).

the download link I was using (not my own) is no longer working for some reason, if you add UnRAR.exe to your temp folder it should work for you

edit:
thanks for reporting this, I will address this in the next ModMii update

edit2:
Until I push an update, to fix this, open ModMii.bat in notepad or notepad++, and edit replace all the following:
Code:
https://ayera.dl.sourceforge.net/project/menuui/UnRAR.exe
with this:
Code:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/menuui/files/UnRAR.exe

Pretty much, aside from the obvious, internet on your PC, an SD card, possibly USB hard drive if setting up a USB loader, wii, controller(s)

Does the installer have to download files from somewhere online?

Good thing I bought a SD card adapter then.

Hi all, sorry to disturb with more issues, I intend to understand all this well and help others in difficulties.

So, my intention was to create a NTSC-U EmuNAND for playing USA .wad VC and wiiware, as well as N64 VC.

- I installed SNEEK+DI r96 from ModMii, copied the proper files to the SD (bootmiisneek, WAD and SNEEK folders to the SD root). I also installed the NSwitch wad forwarder given by ModMii.

At the moment I have two emunands: one PAL, dumped from my own Wii, and one pl_us, freshly created from ModMii in the process above. My two emunands were under "sd:/nands/pl_us" and "sd:/nands/PAL".

Both emunands have been tested in USBLoaderGX under "full" and no neek mode, they work fine, though most NTSC-U .wad will black-screen. Some of the .wad run after changing the Region Flag via ShowMiiWads, some not, some work directly on the PAL one.

So, for the ones that don't I tried using NEEK mode in the pl_us emunand. This is what I did:

1) Tried to "boot start neek" from USBloaderGX features menu. Black screen for more than 20m. Hard-power off.
2) Deleted the nandconfig.bin files generated in both SD and USB to make sure they don't interfere.
3) Tried to start SNEEK using forwarder. all steps ok, but gets stuck at "Reloading bootmii IOS!". Waited for 20m. Hard-power off.
4) deleted again nandconfig files
5) removed "PAL" emunand to prevent issues from having two emunands under "sd:/nands".
6) Tried again all the above, same result.

My drives are as follows:
  • SD: 16GB FAT32 (4096)
  • USB: 500GB FAT32 (32K)
I do have a "usb:/games/" and a "usb:/wbfs" with GameCube and Wii backups (working properly with USBloaderGx 1271 and Nintendont).

Thank you in advance.

----
I will give a try to UNEEK+DI instead of SNEEK+DI and post the result. But my intention is to get SNEEK to work in the SD.
(One last question, if I only want Neek for USA Emunand purposes, do I really need the "DI" module?)

P.S.: the thread about SNEEK+DI says it is outdated and sends back here ("for up-to-date info about SNEEK go to this thread").
Apologizes if this is not the right place, please feel free to move my post to the right thread, or let me know and I will do it myself. Thank you.

The installer itself, no, but to do anything else it will need the internet on your PC, not your wii

Trying it right now, I hope a fully offline installer is done eventually because one of these days the host of the files will be gone. Just in case I made a backup of my old hack of course.

I can confirm UNEEK+DI works perfectly, but SNEEK+DI is not.

Thanks for the suggestion. I spent quite some time this weekend configuring sneek so I'll get a rest and try this in a few days. However I think the answer might be in this thread: how-do-i-get-usb-loader-gx-to-properly-utilize-emunand.437521 post-6592730 from Cyan (can't link... still a n00b :D).

Basically he says di.bin checks for a /wbfs folder in the same media of the emunand (or so he thinks) and I do not have a "sd:/wbfs" folder.

So my plan is to try SNEEK without DI first, if it does not work I will try SNEEK r95 and if it doesn't NEEK as per your suggestion.

Check out the just for fun apps in Modmii's download page 2. U can access these apps via the homebrew channel, or you can install forwarder channels to your system menu then launch the homebrew, allowing u to avoid using the hbc each time for apps you use frequently. There's a link in your modmii guide to my top channels thread, or just Google XFlak's top wii channels. At the bottom of this post you will find links to many other good resources for all kinds of channels.

It would be really helpful if someone who has a working Sneek and/or Uneek Emulated NAND , to record the process from start to finish . I mean from an unhacked wii , to playing GC and Wiiware from SD/USB

I have previously hacked serveral wii's using the old skoll methods , bathaxx, letterbomb, and sucessfully played ISO's using USB backup loaders . Though I am starting to see the shortcombings of these methods , such as limited Nand and poor VC/Wiiware compatibliy . I have been reading about emulated nand emunand , which seems great on paper . with much better compatiblity with VC / Wiiware and Emulation

For the life of me , the SNEEK+UI options on Modmii are just not working . The Moddmii compiler seems incredibly easy ( almost too easy ) . I follow the simple steps , choose hack type (sNeek+DI) then wii version , build , optional extras checked then Copy files to SD
I insert the SD , I can install the Sneek Wad but it just will not load . No idea how to get this working .
