Tested the following

  1. Started into Priiloader. => Launch Titel => I get a working titel list. I can walk downwards trough the list and I can go back to the main menu. Starting titels also works.
However when I am at the top and go Up then it chrashes.

The following thins occured to me:

  1. The menu has 19 titles but 20 items. Not including the "<-- Go Back" item. Is it counted too somehow?
  2. The last menu item (20) saying (null)(....) can't be selected. It skips to the top when you move from 19 to 20. (See attachment).
  3. When I generate a crash I need to do a cold reboot (Shutdown to red led) with atleast 30 seconds turned off. Anything less will still generate a crash when entering the Launch Titel menu.
the log says 19, but its -1, the go back is counted in.

hmmm, null?
thats odd. this should have fixed that like in the hacks menu.
i added some debugging lines to the drawing of the menu that might help me reproduce the issue or fix it.
could you run this dol from homebrew channel and go into the titles list?
it might not be able to read the title's names, but i don't think that matters.

btw, normally if you have a DSI crash, you can press reset to boot HBC. it doesn't work here?

This seems to work. I can go up from the first item and there is no (null) entry. And yes it does not read the titel names. See attachment.

This does work. When I get a DSI and press reset I go to the HBC.

wait, so the issue is fixed now? :/
did you install the version i posted before correctly?

if not, im missing a prii.log :)
i changed nothing here except for added debug lines so it should still crash.
here is an installer that installs that dol without the debug lines. does that work?
verify that the installer says "0x2e5068d-dirty" as revision

I'm not sure what 's happening here? I did install last version you send. It said that it installed successfully. The revision shows r0x02e5068d. S0 no 0x2e5068d-dirty?
Even stranger, everything seems to be working without a glitch. I can go up and it wraps around to the bottom. I see no (null) entry at the end and I have 18 Titels!
I begin to question myself here. Did I install all the versions you send me correctly? I proberly did not for the previous installable version!

i think you did, priiloader itself should say it without dirty, the installer should say dirty afaik (i didn't check).
im probably mistaken.

anyway, the fix works so enjoy your fixed priiloader :)

(btw, these fixes are all fixed on github as well. so i can release a 0.9.1 minor if needed. so far we only have 3 fixes :) )

Thank you very much for your patience! It's incredible to see how quick you drop those fixes.
I'm glad I was able to help debug those tiny bugs. Even if it was just a tiny bit of help!

If no new bugs reported in a couple weeks I think 0.9.1 sounds like a great idea. I kind of doubt there will be many more bugs reported, if any, and doubly doubtful that they will be reported in the near future, if they even exist to begin with!

this is why i haven't released anything.
the issues that have been reported are just edge cases. personally i don't think a 0.9.1 is in order, as nothing very broken has been reported (this was a very very specific case)

i can access the priiloader by holding reset and pressing the power button. everything works ie the power button as the change and reset button as select. when i press reset on System Menu Hacks, nothing happens. other choices work.
my ios is v60. systemmenu is v449 priiloader v0.9.1 (r0x02e5068d)

ah, youre using the front buttons.
the hacks, dol & password menu's are forbidden from being entered with the power/select because you can't decently navigate through them with the front panel buttons (you need to move, enable or disable , go back and that in a potentially large list of things).

don't you have any other way of navigating the menu?
wiimote, gamecube controller, keyboard ? obviously this is a normal wii, seeing as its running v449 so a few other options should be available?

i don't know the technical details, so im probably wrong, but afaik the fix fixes how system menu creates the 480p frame in the framebuffer and things like wiidual and such just grab the signal before the encoder does, right?
if so, i'd assume it also affects them.

again, this is not my area of expertise , so don't quote me on this.

From what I know, the 480p fix is only for getting the 480p quality of older Wiis on par with newer Wiis. So if your Wii is new enough you shouldn't need it. However, the WiiDual makes this signal even better, so really enabling the fix would probably have no effect with the WiiDual.

Hi,
I came here mostly to request a feature that would spare me some hassle
I am maintaining wii.guide, and one problem I come across more than I'd think, is that people are seeing the "Can't find fat:/apps/priiloader/hacks_hash.ini"
What is happening is the people are installing it using a USB and still having an SD card inserted at the same time.
Priiloader goes to mount the SD card, doesn't find the hacks, then I figure checks the nand and doesn't find the hacks there either.
Taking out the SD card fixes this, making it mount and check the USB instead, but I'd prefer not to have to tell people to do this.

And of course, an obligatory thank you for all the work done on Priiloader - it is truly amazing

i might consider implementing this change, but i wonder why the state of those installations is what it is.

if the hacks is on the usb, that means the applications/homebrew is on the usb.
if those are on the usb, why is there an SD card? what is on that SD?
afaik, HBC also picks SD over USB even if there are no applications on the SD.
