So, recently I hacked my PSP and decided I wanted to play FFVII (I never played it before). This is the original ps1 version, btw. I downloaded an eboot, put it on my psp, and played it. It was really fun, but then I wanted to stop playing. So I turned the psp off. A day later, I wanted to continue, but I had to restart the game. I have noticed that when I press the PS button, there is a bunch of settings, such as memory card utility. When I enter that menu, it shows that I need memory card. But I have a memory card on my PSP. And, when I want to save my game, the save button when I pause the game is greyed out, and I can't save.
How do I save my progress in the game on the psp? I don't want this happening to me again.

FFVII only allows saves via a "Save Point" when you find one in the game. Also, when you get to the world map you can save anywhere on the world map.

See the bottom of page 42 in the original manual here:

[I have to PM you the link as I don't have enough posts to post links].

[I am also unable to PM you a link. Just google: "Final_Fantasy_VII_-_PS1_-_Manual.pdf"]

Must have been annoying to lose all that progress, but start over, you will not regret it . Especially since you've already taken to it.
