Hacking Does someone knows how to fix a black screen brick on the 3DS?

Alright, I have a 3DS when I was young, I tried to jailbreak it following a tutorial, the guy in the video said that I could update the firmware even after jailbreaking it, so I tried to update it using the normal 3DS firmware updater, it looked like it was working, but when I tried to turn it on, the blue light flashes for a second and the screen stays black, now I'm triyng to fix it, but I have no idea of what is the problem, if it is the nand or the flash, etc. Can someone give me a hand please?

That's weird usually updating your firmware shouldn't do this, but I'm not familiar with all the older methods of getting CFW. I'll try to give some advice but I also feel obliged to say that following video guides is never the best thing. Next time you should follow this https://3ds.hacks.guide/.

Do you have the video you followed and could you tell us what you did to install cfw? Like was it b9s or al9h?

What happens if you hold start and then start up your system, and what when you hold select?

sorry, it was a long time ago, the only thing I remember is that I jailbreaked it using the Web browser and that the boot screen had a dragon.
If I hold start and power it shows nothing and the blue led flashes for a second and its the same for the select button.
I have already tried to use the recovery mode and it didn't work

I see. By recovery mode what do you mean? Is it using the battery and using ntrboot?

I believe maybe ntrboot and a magnet might help you but don't go and try that yet. Hopefully someone more experienced will come and give you some better advice.

Is there a way to reset the nand or the flash? cause I know how to solder and program, and maybe I could download the firmware directly into the nand, or is there any e-fuses on the 3ds?

I forgot to mention that I don't have the files that was on the SD Card that I used to jailbreak it

Have you already tried putting an "arm9loaderhax.bin" file on the root of the SD card, then tried to boot (the SD card must be formatted as FAT32)?

https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS/releases/v7.0.5 comes in the form of a 7z file, so you'll need to extract it with 7-zip (WinRAR can cause issues at times).

I don't have experience in hacking the 3DS, the only consoles that I hacked is the switch, the ps3 and psp

WOW, ITS ALIVEEEE. I'M SO HAPPY THAT IT AT LEAST TURNS ON
now what do I need to do from here?
I'm triyng to upload image but I can't
I downloaded a bunch of stuff hoping that it turns on and now I don't know what to do?
It's a SafeA9LJInstaller screen saying "press SELECT to update A9LH, START to uninstall
Press any other key to shutdown"
And it shows a red error sayng firm1.bin doesn't exist or has a wrong size

The file mentioned is in the zip file that was linked. Put that into your 3ds sd card and try to boot it up.

It is likely that you probably have to update whatever CFW you were using because the reason your 3ds bricked was that it wasn't compatible. I believe arm9loaderhax is outdated now (don't quote me, I haven't messed with my 3ds in ages)

Also, investing in a decently sized sd card so you can create a emunand is probably still the safest way to have cfw without being hard bricked.

The console was not fully bricked at any point. This person will have to follow the A9LH to B9S guide linked in the post above this one.

EmuNAND is no longer recommended for the majority of casual users. It is safe to do all actions on a SysNAND-only setup as long as you don't remove your CFW loader (currently arm9loaderhax, with your goal to update to the modern one, boot9strap).

Really? No risks of hard bricking if the 3ds updates? That's pretty awesome that the 3ds has come along such a way. I think I gotta go and update all of my 3ds' in my closet

boot9strap can't be removed through a firmware update.
