Hacking BootMii as IOS, or as Boot2, what is better?

So only banner bricks. Well thats how i can imagine I COULD brick my console, cause only thing i would do is install wads of some channels or forwarders, but thats about it. I mean i mostly backup my games and put them on SD or USB...
As far as i see, normal user cant really brick a wii unless he tries to, and if he does, even bootmii as ios can protect.

Did i got that right?

Possibly also 003 bricks, but only if priiloader was installed after the system menu or system menu IOS but before the system menu is loaded (unless of course you region changed properly using modmii, then u shouldn't 003 brick unless u go out of your way to try and do so)

but why would anyone have a Korean wii unless they live in korea?

Ppl region change them and sell them. I even think that most 003 bricks are by ppl who purchase their wii second hand

U heard of Facebook marketplace? Or Kijiji it Craig's list? Ppl sell their used consoles all over the world

I'm not sure if they were cheaper though

Facebook ofc, Craigs list yeah on youtube i saw it...Kijiiji idk what that is but i assume its similar to craigs list.
But ok i get it. I thought there are a lot of them so we should be carefull. Good thing they dont print custom stickers so we can see its korean haha

But if they change whole sticker wouldnt the serial and region be different to match the faulty region?
I mean serial IS on sticker on the left side of console as i know...if we talk about the same thing

Anyway, yes of course they could replace the sticker, but it would probably look obvious if it was tampered with, and I think many ppl wouldn't think to bother with futsing with the serial sticker, probably not worth the effort when 99% of buyers don't check these things

Also, semibricks caused by messing with system IOSes can be solved with Priiloader, as long as the system menu IOS itself is intact and Priiloader hasn't been overwritten. For example somehow messing up the IOS used by HBC so HBC will no longer load, possibly messing with other IOSes so games will not load, leaves you with a pretty useless system. Priiloader would still be able to boot into BootMii IOS on such a system. I've seen bricks like that, they're not very common but they happen. Banner and theme bricks are by far the most common type of bricks that Priiloader can protect against though. But BootMii as boot2 can even recover from a completely fucked NAND, as long as boot2 itself is intact.

I read this whole thread and still don't know if I was able to Install BootMii as boot2
on an old unit that allowed me to do boot2 Do I even need to Install BootMii as IOS?

How should anybody else know? HackMii Installer will tell you if the console has the old boot1 allowing modification of boot2.

I guess you could do without BootMii as IOS when it is in boot2… but why? It does no harm. If possible, install in both places. If not, install and IOS and don't forget Priiloader (which is the only protection for newer consoles).

You don't need BootMii as IOS if you have it installed to boot2, having it installed as IOS just gives you the option in HBC and Priiloader to launch BootMii (BootMii as boot2 can only be launched from a cold power on), so it's a bit more convenient to access it.

Unless the physical NAND chip is badly corrupted, damaged, or worn. At that point, even booting Ceiling Cat (the name for the payload that comes with BootMii - pedantically it isn't BootMii itself, things like Wii Linux run from BootMii too) from a boot2 BootMii won't help much.
