Hi guys. I have a hackable Switch that is currently on FW 9 something and I am wanting to update it to a later System FW so I can play newer games such as Mario 3D All-Stars. Last time I updated it with Choi, which was the first time I used that. After I did the update, I got a bit scared because the system wouldn't reboot right away and I thought I bricked it. Here are some questions before I proceed:

- How should I go about updating to later FW? Should I still use Choi?
- Which FW should I go with?
- I think I have Atmosphere/Kosmos installed, but not sure which version(s)

Any help appreciated :)

Your system may not booted up because maybe you are using an older version of hekate/atmosphere/Kosmos. Update all of them and try again, if nothing happens, try to restore your damaged SysNAND with backup via Hekate.

- You should update your SysNAND with official methods and your EmuNAND via Daybreak, which comes pre-installed on latest atmosphere.
- You can go with 10.1.0 on EmuNAND, after some time you can update to 10.2.0 to make sure every hb app works. Update your SysNAND to latest fw with official method as I said.

Don't update Kosmos. It's dead. Delete it and use something that is in active development.

I have a switch that's on firmware 10.2.0. What are my options for modding my switch? It's a newer one as I just bought it from Walmart a few weeks ago. I saw the SX Core, but don't like the idea of soldering since finding a professional to do so is rather difficult to find in my area; I've been looking for one since I bought it.

I saw the r4s dongle, and on the website claims to work with all firmware; which I'm inclined not to believe (I've been burned in the past). Can anyone tell me what my options are for modding?

SX Core is your only solution at this moment. Period.

Has anyone tried to use cfw(atmospphere) with sysclk, missioncontrol,or syscon active with sigpatch installed on your sysnand without getting ban.
I just want to use the feature (sysclk, missioncontrol, and syscon) with my clean sysnand while playing online. and then switch to my emummc for homebrew and some good stuff.

There is always a risk of a ban when going online with a hacked console. Just because someone else is not banned now does not mean they will not be banned in the future.

I had to factory reset my switch to fix some stuff and i'm having issues getting layeredFS to work again, it worked just fine before the reset (i was using the same version of sxos) but now it's f#cked and idk how to fix it so i need help...

i'm running SXOS 3.0.5 on firmware 10.0.1.
(i'm aware people are having issues with layeredFS on sxos but it worked fine for me until now)

Hi guys. I have been reading through this guide that someone else on here linked me to:
https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/updating/

Before I proceed with any of this, I still have a few questions that I would like clarification on.

Once I update Hekate and Atmosphere, what should I use as Payload? Should I still use "hekate_ctcaer_5.0.2"?

Also, how should I go about updating System FW? I thought my FW was at 9 something, it is actually at 8.0.1. Should I try Daybreak?
Do I also need Sigpatches? Which ones do I need and how do I know if I have fusee primary or secondary?

As far as updating the System FW goes, my main concern is that if I update, I would be locked out of using game card slot since I am updating from below 9.0; is that correct?

Further thoughts and help greatly appreciated :)

How is your SD card formatted?

Obviously if you update Hekate then you should use the updated Hekate.

As for updating firmware, Daybreak is fine but ChoiDujourNX still works.

There is no such thing as "sigpatches" but patches are required for piracy or installing personal dumps. The patches don't depend on fusee primary or secondary. The patches depend if you are using Hekate or fusee.

If you update above 9.0, you will not be locked out of the cartridge slot unless you enable nogc There is an update for the cartridge slot in firmware 9.0 that once applied prevents it from working on any firmware below 9.0. To prevent this, nogc breaks the cartridge slot thereby making it impossible for the update to be applied for as long as nogc is active. The update is applied when the console turns on so if you ever turn on the console without nogc while on a firmware above 9.0, the cartridge slot will irreversibly update. In essence, you can either use the cartridge slot on firmware versions below or above 9.0 so choose wisely.

Thank you so much for the info and help. Um, which Firmware do you recommend I update to? I still want to be able to use game cards after update. Thoughts appreciated [emoji4]

Hello everyone!
So someone else had modded my switch for me about two weeks ago and I haven't had the opportunity to contact them, but with hbg shop no longer an option for downloading my games I'm not sure where to go from there. If I simply wanted to do it via USB, where do people even upload switch games to be downloaded?

Sorry for my VERY noob questions thanks in advance for help ><

Like I said, you can always use game cartridges but you have to pick if you want to use them on firmware versions above or below 9.0. You cannot have it both ways.

Asking for warez is against the rules.

Thanks for the info and help. Um, what is Hekate exactly and what is Atmosphere? Is Hekate just the payload you inject and Atmos is CFW? Help appreciated [emoji4]

Hi everyone! I'll try to explain my situation in the simplest possible way.

I followed NH Switch Guide months ago and started using sysnand for online play with purchased games and keeping emuNand completely offline for homebrew and other stuff. Two months ago, I bought a LAN adapter for the dock and I was scared that I would forget to unplug it when switching to emuNand and therefore be banned. However, I was then told to do two things to avoid bans if that happened:
  1. Set up 90DNS. I did that by disabling airplane mode for like 30 seconds to access the Internet Settings.
  2. Turn off automatic LAN connection. In theory, even if the ethernet is plugged in, it won't connect to the internet unless I manually enable it.
I did that like two months ago. And, today, it happened. I was playing a game (offline, of course) on emuNand with airplane enabled as always and realized the ethernet was plugged. I unplugged it as soon as I reallized. No messages or weird things apeared. Even if I followed the steps I mentioned and never ever went online before, is there risk of ban due to having had the ethernet plugged for about 30 minutes?

Thanks! Even if I try to be cautious I'm always scared of messing it up!

Hi all,
I have an unpatched Switch. I just got a RCMloader in the post.
Is this still good to use, or is there something better now?
I was waiting a long time to receive it (lost parcel), and I am not sure if something better has come along.

Thank you kindly.

So are there some roms that only work on fusee-secondary with its sigpatches and some that only work on fusee-primary with its sigpatches? I can't seem to find any version of one game that checks out as non-corrupt in Horizon using vanilla Atmosphere with the fusee-primary sigpatches though other users have said the same rom checks out fine on fusee-secondary sigpatches when booting fusee-secondary instead.

another question guys.
is it ok to install all legit games and update from eshop/gamecart to the same SD card where my emummc installed as well without getting flag for ban??

edit:
just to clear. all legit games/update were installed using stock clean sysnand. reason why i'm asking if i need separate SDcard for that purpose or can i use the same SD where I'm using the emummc as well.

Thanks
