Super Mario Bros. 35 now available on the Nintendo eShop

If you've ever wanted to know what a Super Mario battle royale game would look like, you don't have to wait any longer. Nintendo has begun to roll out Super Mario Bros. 35 across the Japanese Nintendo eShop, with the game to launch in other regions throughout the rest of today's scheduled launch date. As revealed previously, Super Mario Bros. 35 features 35 different players each vying to defeat the other, by clearing a stage while other players attack Mario. As most battle royale games tend to be, it'll be free to play, though it'll also be available to play for a limited time. According to Nintendo, Super Mario Bros. 35 will be delisted and unplayable after March 31, 2021. So be sure to grab it when it releases in your region and try it out before it's gone for good.

That's nice but I am not going to replay it. Not interested. It was fun in 1980's but not fun today. :)
Whaaat?! I don't remember playing Super Mario Bros 35 in the 80s, damn I missed out.....:P

Like has been already said, this isn't going away assuming it does well, it's just gonna get a rename (won't be celebrating Super Mario's 35th when he turns 36...), maybe a number of players change, and do a Tetris 99 and charge us a small amount to play local mp, etc for the 'full version' (you know they like our money!)

Just had a couple of games - lots of fun actually! :D

Played it for a while and it's a very nice game so far. It reminds me that I'm actually quite decent at ancient sidescrollers. Already won about four or five times.

I hope it gets a feature that lets you join games with your friends like in Fall Guys.

Played a lot, and damn, it is better than I could imagine.

The controls are really spot on, and the competitive is very well implemented.

As opposite of Mario Maker 2, I have faced no lag whatsoever, but on my 40 minutes playtime I got disconnected once (and I pretty sure that the issue was not on my side).

The bad part is that you can't, at least at my knowledge, join the same match as your friends.

Another negative is that the game somewhat rewards you for camping when yoh got the fire flower, when the majority starts doing that it may or may not spoil the fun. We will know about that shortly.

I love the game so much. I will literally complain against Nintendo for being it playable until March 31. So stupid. Love the game to death, so my real complaint is there, Nintendo. Expect lots of angry emails about the playability of the game until March 31. Especially almost spamming the mailbox with multiple complaints, will tell all my friends about it having to mail Nintendo about the big complaint for March 31 and I have a looooot of friends.

I did experience lag, but that was when I had the whole screen full of enemies near the end of a match.

Free for 4 dollars a month.
Or as little as 42 cents if you happen to know 6 others you can share a family membership with.
It all depends on whether you take a smart pricing plan or if you are the dumbest person in the world by agreeing to the most costly plan you could find.

Most people would pay something in between those two extremes (I'm probably around the 1 dollar per month mark), but I don't know anyone who opted for the $3,99 per month plan and if I happened to know such a person I would unfriend it and block it on every social media channel in existence (even if I didn't have an account there to begin with).

Please do direct those e-mails to the proper Nintendo, the one that really create games, and not to their crappy marketing division (aka Nintendo of America).

I actually already knew what Super Mario battle royale is like, but Nintendo DMCA'd it :glare:

This games has nothing to do with that one that was banned. There is any similarities on the multiplayer mechanics between both games.

so no coincidence they shut down the fan game and than this is announced right?
closed not long after it launched and this was launched ages later...after they had made tetris 99 which is the actual base? yes, yes it is coincidence

I don't want to pay for a Mario Bros. NES and Fortnite mashup.
