So I finally got a phat 60GB PS3, and for the next step I want to upgrade the internal hard drive to 1 terabyte. Will this HDD from eBay do the job? Or do you have any other recommendations?
Yeah, but then there's the write speed and the cache, which made me doubtful. So at the end I decided to buy this for cheaper, better speed, and the same type of HDD that is included in PS4s. As soon as I finally upgrade the HDD, time to finally update it with CFW.

PS3 will accept any drive 2.5 inch drive that's less then 10 mm thick.
I think the max size limit is 1.5 TB.
I've got a 1TB Scorpio Blue in me PS3 iirc.. thing works fine.

i suggest buying a normal hard drive from a reputable store rather than just some random thing off ebay, less chance that it'll arrive broken, and it'll cost roughly the same anyway
it doesn't matter much anyway. the idea of any 2.5" drive is misleading especially with the ps4. sony: "you have max limit of 8TB internally or externally." well, guess what, they don't make a drive larger than 2TBs which is 9.5mm or smaller. the ps4 has the same limitations
