Emulation Buttons won't respond on games even though it claims to be Gamepad supported.

I got a question about a specific game that I injected using the WiiVC injector. The game in question is Mario Sluggers on Wii. Game loads fine without black screen but I'm confused about the information in the "Wiivc compatibility" list on gbatemp. Claims the game is working via gamepad and recommends to use the "Force classic controller" option which I did but it then goes on to say that the game is awkward since it relies on vertical control during the beginning but you can set the controls to horizontal mode before the inning begins. From my experience, I cant get any buttons to work when I use gamepad mode. Did I do something wrong or did I misinterprete the info on that list? Also, given that it's awkward to get past the initial screen given it relies on vertical controls is it actually then "working" using gamepad and that the list is incorrect or am i missing something?

Thanks in advance

yeah, I'm not sure if you can play wii games with the gamepad. the gamepad has a built in sensor bar, I believe, which I think is the reason you can even send video to it. I had read that, and I tested it with my own gamepad. I waved the wiimote in front of it, and it was indeed detected. I had placed the gamepad perpendicular to my tv when I ran this test to make sure the actual sensor bar didn't interfere. I could be wrong, but I think the wiimote uses bluetooth for everything except pointing with the sensor bar, which uses infrared. the gamepad itself (I think) uses its own sort of wireless (not bluetooth I don't think), so it may be incompatible.

I'm fairly certain that the wii game needs to have classic controller support to work with the gamepad option with teconmoons injector.
I have no more heros 2 and geometry wars working on my gamepad.

Thank you. Perhaps I'm not understanding the functionality properly.

I was under the impression that with the information in here (https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/WiiU_VC_Wii_inject_compatibility_list) that Mario Sluggers would be working.

Oh, well thats a better, more specific wiki than i linked too.
Hmm, now i wanna try the game myself.
Maybe there was some option was/wasnt ticked on accident?

Yeah maybe I didn't tick an option that I should. I'm about to try the WiiVC inject again and see.

I tried it again making sure I selected "Force Classic Controller" and it's still the same. Yeah, I'm convinced that the info on that Wiki List is incorrect.

Certain wii games cannot be played even when ckassic controller is supported and you tried to force it when building your inject. New super mario bros wii is probably the most famous one.

There is a trick you can try to resync it...

Press Home button
Hold power button on Gamepad to switch it off (Only the gamepad not the console)
Wait a few seconds then press power to switch back on
Press any button on the gamepad a few times to resync
If successful you will the hand/finger pointer on screen which can be moved with left analogue stick
Press home button to return to game.

I've used this merhod on a few wii injects before.... Cave story only comes to mind but im sure that was to correct the sideways wiimote problem.

Again, may not work tho as it doesn't work with NSMBW. Which totally sucks!!

Thank you for this advice. I greatly appreciate it and will remember this for NSMBW :)
