"Collection of never buy this"
Even the quality of life improvements are... meh.
For myself I had too much collections, remasteres, refordeged, rebalanced etc. games in the last years.
Need something new.

so, compared to square's mana collection:

mana:
cart, but no goodies
went pretty fast to the bargain bin

Final Fantasy Legend / Sa-Ga
no physical cart, but goodies

this tells me:
more revenue with the goodies as they are cheap to produce as comapred to a swutch cart

At first I thought they were remaking the games, but nono it's all emulation and exactly like the originals.
I was extremly excited in the beginning, but learnt quickly it's all just roms and emulators. What a shaming of these titles. They definitely deserve better. Something like Final Fantasy 4 for DS recieved.

I've always intended to go back and finish FFL2 someday. I got as far as the Nasty Dungeon (that's what it's called!), but it was just too nasty. It didn't help that I accidentally lost one of the most useful skills of my Mutants early on.

But I've still got my original cart - and my GBA, and my DS Lite old B&W GBs, and my Game Boy Player. I don't need this collection.

That music kind of over hypes it
Oh yes, fine job there with the music and dramatic zooms.

I'd might be interested if they updated the graphics like they did with Final Fantasy 5 and 6, but this is too "meh" to purchase.
I thought everyone was absolutely furious about the hatchet job they did with the new FF5 and FF6 ports. Not surprising that they wouldn't try again.

Still, you'd think SGB-style palettes would be reasonable. They they could advertise "Now in COLOR!!!"

The original Saga got a wonderswan port that was then fan-translated. That's the version to play.
And Saga II and III had DS ports which have also been translated.

When nightmares come back to haunt me.

Seriously I never beat any of these games. (Only played the first one honestly) going to be blunt, IT'S HARD! Just cause I played and beat final fantasy, doesn't mean I can beat this. Is like that with every kind of "Sa-GA" game I know so far. Playing with humans you need to buy "Steroids" (Paying for stat improvements?) Mutants get stronger the traditional way through battles, but it's total RANDOM. Monsters must eat meat to transform into newer ones? My gosh, as if it wasn't bad enough you have limited weapon and spell usage that has a "durability system" and already a limited inventory space. :wtf:

Some horrible quality of life improvements if you wanted to get people interested in trying it. (Guess they considered the ones in final fantasy 7-9 re-release too much help or cheating)

The only differences between the Super NES versions of Final Fantasy 5 and 6 and the PC/Android ports was the graphics, menu system and some text translations. I liked the updated graphics, the menu was okay and other than that I didn't notice many other changes. I would have liked a 3d version like they did for Final Fantasy 3 and 4, but I still think 5 and 6 were decent. Why do you state that people were furious over the ports?

lol even worse, guess i was being kind by saying 15
the funny part is they should just release the game now, i'm sure no one has this on their wish list for Christmas.
Perhaps not, but they been trying to push this saga series internationally for the last five years. Though not sure how well their efforts are going. Is like the third wheel of triplets with final fantasy and dragon quest. If I didn't already feel Atlus made hard RPG like persona or Shin Megami Tensei, SAGA SERIES IS THE HARDEST RPG I EVER KNOWN!
