Just to play Wii Sports? How about Metroid Prime Trilogy? The many lightgun game ports? SMG2? Skyward Sword? Both No More Heroes? The good Wiiware games? I could go on with games that I'd rather play than Wii Sports.
Well Wii Sports was just a base. Ofc id be playing SMG2, my list will go on and on

No, I've read the thread it just broke up in small pieces so I wanted to ask the people who know a thing or two. I also wanted to inject my casual satire in there.
The only thing I can say about the injection is that it takes more work than usual to do it. Among them is to reverse engineer the emulators because they are probably fragments of a more complex emulator that Nintendo only compiled for these three games. It's like a Wii but with the IOS missing, so to speak.

I heard in a video there is remnants of of stuff used in other games (Like Paper Mario) that are still within the emulator. Why else would they be there unless there is a bigger picture

Yeah. There's bounding box and zfreeze capabilities written into the emulator, but that doesn't mean anything by itself. For all we know, Nintendo is just making sure all the bases were covered.

that could be very true. I tend to believe the saying "Where there is a will there is a way" There is obviously a will here. So let's make a way!!!

I would happily volunteer my time and switch to test anything out but I do not want to risk bricking my system.

Now, whether @m4xw wants to go through the trouble of creating one is an entirely different story...
its fakenews.
Both sunshine and galaxy are fully recompiled, they remap the registers to structs from llvm ir
wii is as much on the table as gc, very little and like 80k worth in labor to write their GekkoStatifier tool from scratch.
n64 - dunno, didnt even look at that yet.

I also found evidence of tracks from Pikmin or other games in the "MemorySystem" file:
TestHayakawaVrPikmin00Stage
TestHayakawaVrPikmin01Stage
...
TestHayakawaVrTour001Stage
...
TestMatsudaBuildHouseTest000Stage

I'm not sure what Pikmin game out there.

Edit: They must be traces of some Debug Menu to test SM3DAS

Has anyone tried to swap out the roms yet, or is that coming up next?

Just seeing the simple fact that the roms are hardcorded should mean we SHOULD be able to change out the roms.
Though strange how they're checking the hash aswell. Perhaps anti-modification, but that should (if it exists) be fairly simple to cut out.

Edit: I'm more glad that they're using an emulator, because it means that hacker/homebrew scene gets ahold of it too. No need to wait for someone to make one :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
I changed mario sunshine out with zelda wind waker but it just crashes when I click on mario sunshine in game. If you want to try to swap the rom out its located at Title ID 010049900F546002/romfs/MarioSunshine/Super_Mario_Sunshine_trimmed.gcm
could just use lakka though and avoid the trouble

Yeah, we know why. the NRO which contains the .gcm file is actually boot/main .dol recompiled. Currently not able to use Hagi as a wider emulator for other games.

Lakka is a whole other thing, and quite frankly it works but not super well as far as I can remember. Most people would like to run everything natively

Sometimes it feels like Nintendo almost gives us just little tastes of things on purpose without ever expanding upon it themselves, knowing that the scene will do what they do. Like, boom, here are 3 emulators you probably want for your Switch, but we can't just give it to you, you'll have to figure out how to adapt this for yourselves, but the pieces are all there.

Or how about the Wii U, they gave us all these little things that could easily be expanded, like you get a virtual Wii inside, but they aren't going to pay for the extra physical components for GameCube games, so they'll shut that part of the system out to you; but, that is still a fully functioning Wii, oh and here is an adapter for the Wii U that can plug 4 GameCube controllers into it. Go figure it out. Or, we see your Wii U has all this Wii homebrew and emulators, but no way to play them with the Wii U Gamepad, well here are exactly 2 Wii games (Xenoblade Chronicles and Sin and Punishment Star Successor) released to the Wii U side of the system that include Gamepad functionality in place of a classic controller, you do the math. Also, you probably want to use the Wii U as kind of a DS emulator as it'd be a good fit, well here are a handful DS virtual console games, inject away, most games will work, also, use one of these DS games to your advantage in hacking your system somehow, you got this.

I know that's not really the case, but sometimes it just kinda feels like it lol.

honestly the VC was the best thing they ever made for wii/U i dont even know why they went away with that concept it made things so much easier to find classics

If Nintendo went more all-in on their current way of releasing classics, then honestly I wouldn't mind what they're doing over the virtual console, as much as I love the virtual consoel. But they aren't going all-in, they've released NES and SNES and that's it, and that's over 2 years of the services existing. Maybe we get N64 and Gameboy in the future, but it's not enough, and it's much too slow. I like giving us a catalog of all the best games these classic systems have that we get unlimited access to for a monthly/yearly fee, and I like the added online functionality. But they should put everything into one GamePass like service for all the best classic games with games from NES, SNES,N64, Gamecube, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. They could probably do Wii pretty easily too. I'd understand why the likes of Wii U, DS, and 3DS would be left out though given the lack of a second screen. I suppose they could do layouts that could work decently, like some of the single (mirrored) screen layout options of DS VC titles, but still that really isn't as great as playing with 2 proper separate screens.
