I'm trying to change the region of my MH4U save from USA to EUR.
I've looked up a lot of guides online, but most of them are 5 years old and a lot has changed since then. I was hoping someone could help me do it or at least link me to the right places that i could follow.

From what i've read, JK's Save Manager does not work (sadly, it seems simpler with that) and i'll have to use SaveDataFiler, which i already installed. I am however having troubles exporting the save file.
When i open it up and browse through the saves, most of them appear as "broken" including MH4U's, some guides refer to a "CTR card" option but i do not know how to make it show up, supposedly i have to use a Gateway browser exploit and load the ROM, i have no idea how to do it, this parts seems to be outdated, which is why i'm asking for help. Do i need to have MH4U US version installed in order for it to show up on SDF ?

Any help you could give me would be highly appreciated, if the process differs a lot from the past guides i've looked up, i plan on making a new, detailed and updated one so people in the future will know what to do, and won't need to resort to bothering you guys on this forum.

Thanks for reading, hope you can help

Wouldn't it be easier to install a USA version of the game to use your own save without all the extra work? :D

I can't connect online with the US version, which is why i'm going through all the trouble. I already have over 100 hours dumped into the save which is why i don't want to start over :(

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Update: After looking into more stuff online, i found that i may be able to do this with "Checkpoint", which i already have installed.

Can someone confirm if it's possible to backup the save and then restore it on another region ?

No, but i have found others who did and did not manage to make it work. I just got home, will give the Checkpoint method a try and report back.

Update: SUCCESS ! I've managed to make it work with Checkpoint ! I think i better put this tutorial up somewhere, in what section of this forum should i put it in ?
