So you might wonder what are these two booting methods you should use and how to apply the patches correctly. There are 2 different methods to boot into Atmosphere.
  1. Boot using fusée-primary
This is the primary method of booting atmosphere supported by the developers.
Example1: You send Atmosphère fusée-primary payload directly to the console in RCM.
Example2: You send Hekate_CTR payload to the console in RCM, which boots Atmosphère using “payload=fusée-primary” functionality.
The scenario in example 2 is the same way of launching Atmosphère as in Example1, except it's chain-loaded by Hekate.

  2. Using Hekate to boot fusée-secondary
Hekate can boot Atmosphère by extracting Atmosphere modules directly from fusée-secondary.bin, which can then be loaded or replaced independently.
Example3: You send Hekate_CTR payload to the console in RCM, which boots Atmosphère using “fss0=fusée-secondary” functionality.

Note that "sending" here refers to using your preferred Fusée Gelée payload sending method with your console in recovery mode: computer(TegraRCM), USB dongle, phone apps, etc.

You still haven't explained which version to use, better if someone creates a ready-made package?

what do you mean ?
it's not my goal nor the guide's purpose to tell you which boot method to use.
The guide tells you which patch to use based on which method YOU chose, or based on the boot method the "ready to use package" you chose uses.

the differences on both boot methods are already explained.
there's no boot method better than the other, they are doing things differently to achieve the same thing.
up to you to decide what you prefer and pick the boot method you want, knowing that they have the same feature, because it's booting the same custom firmware : Atmosphere !

the guide tell you which "patch" to choose, not which boot method.
find another guide if you still don't know which boot method you want, or why.

"Ready-made package" already exist ! There are tens of them.
That doesn't tell you which boot method YOU want to use, you'll still have too choose the package first based on the boot method the package creator chose!
at the end : it's still up to you to choose !

So uh, I'd imagine if I use SDFiles I should be fine? Carefully read through everything, but unfortunately I'm still left confused (which is why I've always used SDFiles to carry me the in first place).

I'm having trouble with an IPATCHED Switch.
Everything worked fine until I updated to 10+
Tried multiple ready-to-go packages and noone works (last one used was sdsetup.com).

First of all, I'm running Caffeine and I have a question:
Which boot method am I using or should I use (or which one will be easier/better for an IPATCHED unit)?
I wasn't able to find a lot of information regarding Caffeine.

Also, should I delete my emuNAND and start again from scratch?

Thanks!

Not sure if true, but I heard that the next update of Atmosphere will include support for patched units. You could probably wait until then if you still could not solve the issue you're having, which I'm guessing is a case of Caffeine being out-of-date to support firmware 10.X.X.

Signature patches enhance the checks performed by Atmosphere (CFW for Horizon) to allow additional software to load that would have been able to run otherwise. Usually, this refers to installed .nsps.

What's the difference between sigpatches, kip patches, exefs patches?
