I have multiple low firmware PS4 consoles (all hackable). Can I back it all up, upgrade the firmware to the latest version, buy games from PSN, roll back to previous firmware, dump it all and made the games playable with lower firmware even if they were made for 7.00+ firmware then switch back to my latest firmware and continue using PSN without getting banned, sending a red flag etc?
Yes.

But in that example, if you have a 5.05 console, back up your 5.05 sflash0 etc, update to 7.55, buy a game on PSN, downgrade/revert back to 5.05 you cannot dump a 7.55 game on 5.05...

You should be able to: back up 6.72, update to 7.50, download a 1.00 base game known built with 6.72 SDK, downgrade/revert back to 6.72, dump 6.72 game.... however there are issues as @centrinouk mentioned.

I was thinking/asking if there were solutions for that, we know it happend for some games where they made the game which required a higher firmware playable on 5.05 (basically downgraded the requirements).

Problem is that most games use, how could I call it,"forced" firmware requirements instead of "true" firmware requirements meaning actually using new feautures from new firmwares, so in reallity the games should work even on lower firmwares (most of them). The same way how I used franken firmwares for my 3DS with Gateway3DS, I dont count anymore but sure on later 10-12 iterations of newer firmwares (I never updated the native firmware on my 3DS since 9.0 or so aka the latest which Gateway3DS supported, dont remember now) and the games still played perfectly, online still worked, never had technical issues, never was banned etc for using an actually "outdated" firmware on newest/upcomming games and online.

Same/similar for PC where they basically force us to switch from XP/7 over to Win10 OS but if you look at "Fernandos Win Raid Forum" or else, they made it possible to install XP 32bit, even Win98 SE on the newest hardware (newest Ryzen, Core i7/i9 CPUs), some even made the XPs ACPI possible on the newest hardware but they, manufacturers, chip producers etc. tell use: older operating systems are technically not supported/possible which is a BIG lie.

EDIT:
BTW there was even a lady (which later passed away sadly) who did made the XP with ACPI and USB 3.0 etc. possible for some new/modern Motherboards etc, she worked for the company (dont remember now, Asrock it was maybe).

Again to spoof the false “”firmware requirements”” you would need to decrypt the pkg, if you could do that you wouldn’t need to spoof anything, you could just rebuild fake pkg.

best solution (imho) is to mount the pkg (on fw up to 6.72) bypass licence check, dump contents, repack. This won’t get you higher games, but it will get you ALL current highest KEX compatible games.

As I am not an expert here, How does one correctly and maybe an fairly easy way to back up my system so I can roll back?

I am on 5.05 now and REALLY want to play Last of US 2, I have the physical disc but, don't want to lock myself out of homebrew type stuff.

@OP and anyone else who asks:

Doing this process is incredibly complex, requires soldering skills out the ass, various little circuit boards and an ADVANCED understanding of hacking and common sense. When I say hacking , I don't mean using a mod menu in GTA. This is high level developer sh*t and there is NO tutorial and there won't be. YOu can't teach intelligence or common sense you either have it or you don't. And if you're here asking "how?" then you lack both! move on.

Those who possess both don't ask in an open forum like this, they start figuring it out and go elsewhere to get the real answers if they get stumped. If all this offends people... the lack of common sense and intelligence is your fault and yours alone. .... maybe your parents too. Just keeping it real.

Just to point out that there are reverse engineering guys who are not that good at programming or basically no programming skills (that guy "Voksi" if you heard of him which he said numerous times that he is not a programmer, he "self-taught" reverse engineering) and there are pro programmers who dont know a sh**t about soldering and similar, not their thing......... BUT all of us have some "special" friends who will do the "dirty job" for us/them".

BTW and there are pure geniuses like "Terry. A. Davis" who did everything by himself.....

A. it is real and it is NOT an easy process at all!!

B. this does not allow to just grab a ps4 and downgrade firmware!!

C. First you have to do ALL the steps involved to dump the CURRENT firmware you are on.
IF done successfully, you can then update your system, at any point in the future you can go
back down to the firmware you dumped... not an older one just that SPECIFIC one! and it MUST
be from YOUR system and nobody else's.

This is nothing even remotely close to like it was on the ps3. It will never be like that. And no, this will not
get streamed lined to the point where you can do it all via usb. For those who want to be stupidly optimistic,
go ahead, hold your breath....and wait. see what happens.
Well everyone did say the same thing about the PS3 .It would never be reversed engineered. It would never be hacked. Never say never for 1.Secondly,what makes you a genius on the topic? I don't see how your an expert buddy. Why dont we just see what happenes instead of calling people stupid for being optimistic.I bought my PS4 2 years ago with firmware 7.55 on it. Well being optimistic has lead to me finally experience homebrew on the ps4.

PS3 had a hmac key fail, PS4 doesn’t: Sony learned from their mistakes. Until we have keys we won’t be able to downgrade any console, other than our own, with preparation ofc.

Yepp I'm an expert on the topic and a lot of things tech, hacking, modding related and not just consoles, but of course you wouldn't believe it anyway since it would just make you look bad. Also what I have that you don't, is common sense and basic intellect. The ps4 has come and gone, next gen is here and we NEVER got an easy way to downgrade. So that part was 100% correct. And according to your optimism, you might as well just wait to hit the lottery, because "you just never know" .

You took what happened in 7th gen and think its the standard and that what happened in the ps3, will happen to every console. That's just stupid. Anyone with basic intelligence and common sense, especially when it comes to coding, scripting, security and just how things work, knows that just because you achieved certain results on one device or platform (of anything not just consoles) doesn't automatically mean you will get the same or similar results on another.

and did you just say that EVERYONE said the ps3 couldn't be hacked?:rofl::rofl2::rofl2:
You literally just flat out LIED because almost NO one said this! At least not by people with smarts and definitely NOT the hackers. So I'd like to see proof. Show us some old links where the devs/hackers, any reputable individual ...etc and not some rando shmuck, said that the ps3 would never be hacked.

The ps4 will never be as easy to downgrade as the ps3 was, because of its architexture/design/security.... and so on.
Simply saying: "you never know, anything is possible let's wait and see" is what dumb people say when they clearly don't know what they're talking about and want to be stupidly optimistic. It's such a general baseless blanket term that in this case only shows clearly your ignorance.
Now this is the part where you make a snappy junior high school calibur comeback
because that's all you can do. :D
