Try running any region changer modmii edition and see if there's a mismatch there that can be resolved.

Do u have a nand backup from before this happened? That certainly would have been one of Modmii's first recommended steps.

When u used modmii the first time and entered the wrong region, did u also elect to install some channels like mii, weather or whatever? If so, these are region specific and may be causing issues

At this stage I would consider restoring a working nand dump.

This is unusual to be certain. Most likely cause is either a giant coincidence or even more likely some more user error (no offense).

Edit: have u tried unplugging peripherals? How about unplugging it from power for awhile before trying again?

Interestingly, when I open up USB launchers like USB Loader GX or Configurable usb loader, it can't detect my games in USB HD or SD Card. I even tried launching the official Mii channel within USB Loader GX but got a blank screen as well. You reckon is some hardware failure instead?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Let me focus on my other Wii console I just bought. I can run games via DVD but I can't get access to Wii Options Menu. It gave me the following error:

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

How shall I begin using the exploit to install bootmii in the 1st place for this console? I think it's on 4.3U.
Since I can't connect to my Wii option, there's no internet connection.

xflak.com/modmii is down... I'm not sure exactly why, @DeadlyFoez was running this server and I haven't been able to get a hold of him since I noticed the site was down yesterday.

In any case, I've changed the modmii site... again! Hopefully for the last time, to this URL http://expresstek.org/xflak/modmii/

This is a hosting location shared with me many years ago by my good friend @JoostinOnline, and until now I've not taken full advantage of it. Point being, this site has been up and running and pretty stable for many years, and I'm hopeful that it stands the test of time much longer than any of ModMii's previous sites

First post and my signature have been updated accordingly

I spoke with DeadlyFoez, no issues there we are like brothers. Turns out he was investigating correcting false warnings from some browsers when accessing the old site. These warnings are not present on the new site (yet? Hopefully they never appear).

I'm modding it rn!
I hope everything goes well! ^^

Thanks for this awesome tool XFlak!~

EDIT: Modded it!
Not very smooth but really great. Like that its generating tutorials. They just need more explanation so they are not just follow through.

Luckily XFlak always comes to help and ofc helped a lot. Thanks XFlak!
Again, nice tool...one suggestion...it would be even better imo if interface is aestetically more pleasing and all in one table with thorough explanations of everymenu and situation in semy technical terms and explanation of those terms in short. I think that would make it great.

Its bettre than dos interface anyway, but i remember DOS interface also worked great!

Like XFlak said, those wad are not crucial though would make you softmod more "complete", maybe post the latest syscheck report here to ensure your other wads are installed properly?
What are the error messages? Which wad manager are you using? Wii remote with or without motion plus? It would be nice to find out the actual causes.

Unfortunately, I am not a fan of emulators on consoles. I play with emus on my PC and my 24" full HD monitor. I can link up my PC to my HDTV if I really wanted to. My only complaint is: there is no decent free cover flow apps for the PC but the windows explorer does the job with its fast response and file associations.
Check out hyperspin for your pc.. I built a 4tb arcade system that had great cover flow for all consoles (over 30) and ran great off a thrift store cpu.
Arcade punks is a good place to check out

Thanks
but I am very cautious about creating an account just to download 500MB of unknown (to me) app.
I developed my own way shortly after the above post:

1. Associate my roms with the corresponsing emulators of my choice (already did long long time ago)
2. Associate *.png with a 1-liner batch file: start "" "..\%~n1" (the roms are stored in the parent folder of the covers; but you can always add checks in the batch file to switch to different rom folders according to rom type if you store them in categorized folders)
3. start collecting covers and convert them to png with the same name as the roms (including extensions e.g .'Drol.dsk.png" for apple II game rom "Drol.dsk"
4. put the covers into folders/sub folders of my choices, change folder view to large icons and double-clicks away

simple, "easy" and I have 100% control myself. I am settled with this simplistic folder structure and workflow for now...
May be one day I will develop a fullblown coverflow batch system

Yes it still works. If your wii is already hacked, u can proceed as if it wasn't, and it will overwrite any outdated mods. Alternatively, you can use modmii's syscheck updater wizard to only update what's missing or outdated on your specific console

Cool, does the first page still point to the latest files? or I have to get them somewhere else?

Right on. Hyperspin is a pretty popular project it's been around for awhile and was the inspiration around rocky5 emustation dashboard for the ogxbox
Chech out hyperspin-systems website
Arcade punks just have preloaded HDD images with ROMs to download

Runs fine off an old win 7 system too

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
