I picked up one of my old wii's and noticed this behaviour. With the nunchuch on:

- USB Loader GX either crashes, ignores wiimote input or glitches the screen;
- wii flow does't stop spinning;
- usb browser crashes;
- wad manager ignores wiimote
- wiiflow forwarder crashes;
- homebrew channel ignores the wiimote.

Everything else seems to work fine. The wii system and games work without a problem.

Any clue what could be causing the issue?

Check the area where the nunchuck connects, is it dirty or are the connecting portions messed up?

Post a Syscheck and/or update your cios. Just a thought
Syscheck?

Would you happen to use a offbrand/generic/Chinese knockoff Wiimote by any chance?

Nope, both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck are original. The only third party thing O haver is a Motion Plus add on, but I rarely use it.

And either post the syscheck results or open the file using modmii

Hello

Your syscheck report is correct.

What type of SD card do you have (micro SD, single SD card) ??

Prefer a simple branded SD card, not counterfeit

I've used the nunchuck in these programs and had no problems. Sometimes when things like this happen it can be worth your while to delete and then re-install some of the software you are using. If this is a problem with your software, then doing this may fix it. What is more likely, though, is that your nunchuck itself is broken which is causing it to drift.

The cursor on USB Loader GX can be controlled by nunchuck instead of wiimote controls... if your nunchuck is drifting then that would explain why it ignores your wiimote input. It thinks you're trying to use nunchuck to control the cursor. A drift would also explain Wiiflow spinning and the confusion with homebrew channel.

There might not be much you can do to fix this. You may want to re-sync your controllers to the wii, and if that doesn't work you should try a new nunchuck :D

Or take the batteries out and let your 2 your old hold it to think he's playing. I do this all the time with an old remote that actually still works but just has some sticky buttons. It's the only way he ever let his older brothers and I actually play something. Unfortunately now I can't even do that since the same 2 yr old threw some toy and broke the only TV we got in the house! I'd replace it but it could just happen again so, yeah, I digress.

Tldr,u can still use a busted remote to let a 2yr old think he's playing allowing the older gamers in the room to get their gaming on

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
