Question regarding deleting roms.
Instead of deleting entire playlist and starting over, what is the best way to remove roms individually? Can I physically delete a rom from my sd and the playlist on the switch?
You can individually remove entries from a playlist. To remove the rom itself from the sd card just use something like nx-shell or ftpd.

Try resetting RA configs and getting the core from stable release (just to be sure). If your roms work on PC RA, they should be working on switch flycast too. I remember i once had a problem when an NTSC rom failed to load (but it didn't crash afair), but the PAL one worked fine. Asked for help in flycast's discord and got a tip to switch cable type in core settings and it really helped (even tho i'm sure its not your problem here).
Using Stable version worked! Thank you!

I'm having a really hard time with Retroarch and N64, i just updated my MUPEN-Next core and am trying to emulate N64 for first time, for whatever reason the N64 games (tried Ocarina of time and majoras mask) dont recognise my analog joysticks or DPad, only X/B (mapped to n64 A and B) and Start... is this something I can fix or is this still not the core to use for emulation?

edit:
- Was on Atmos. 10.2 and Sys 10.1.0, upgraded to Atmosphere 14 and System 10.2, no help.
- Uninstalled all retroarch files from SD card and got latest nightly, also no help
- remapped the controls manually for N64 Core, saved control profile, restarted retroarch, loaded new control profile, no help

should be noted I'm using plain ol Joycons, and am in handheld mode. On Ocarina of time the joysticks dont work but other buttons do. On other games tested (FZERO X for example) Joysticks work in game menus, then once the actual gameplay kicks in they do nothing.

I'm really confused as to how...

hi is there a way to make my ssd read the games?
I don't know if I understand you correctly. An SSD is a hard drive so how you want to make a harddrive "read the games"?

Arcade games have to be zip files and they need to have specific names too.
I recommend you to look for a complete MAME romset on that archive site and keep the files the way they are.
Chances are high a DAT file is bundled with it. If that's the case use Playlist Buddy to create a RetroArch playlist with it.

I am aware of this .... what I was trying to say is, is there the possibility of making retroarch (on switch) read an external ssd on which the games are present ???? I ask because I have a micro sd not too big.

So you basically want to load roms from USB. Many of us want that but unfortunately this is not possible yet. XorTroll was working on USB support for Atmosphère but got nowhere afair.
