i compiled these 3 cores (bluemsx-fmsx and handy (Atari Lynx). The known problem with latest RA (1.9.0 as of now) that some cores can't identify wiimote and see it as a mouse persists, at least on my Wii using both RA 1.8.4 and RA-Hexaeco.
But anyway feel free to use and test them. MSX cores also require bios that you can easily find around. I also compiled some more that don't exist on official RA (sms plus, gearboy, gpsp etc) but there are alternatives already.

link, use only handy core

that's great! i've been waiting for a msx core for a long time!
I'm testing BlueMSX core and it's booting every game til now, msx1 and msx2 variations.

I'm having a hard time figuring out the controller input since the msx relied on keyboard specific inputs (F1, F2, 1, 2, etc) for the game to start.
Right now I can only boot game and watch the demonstration.
USB Keyboard does not work too

thank you for your work :)

Have another one, a WORKING Atari800 core.
Atari 8-bit computer systems (400, 800, 600 XL, 800XL, 130XE) and 5200 game console emulator. Also needs Bios to work.

They did something in their code (some mouse to lightgun support?) that affected the wii controls in some cores. And i heard they don't have a Wii coder for maintenance. That's why you see many cores can compile for the Wii but there aren't in their nightlies/stable.

It needs to be fixed for all cores that wiimote is not working. It is fixed on some of them, that's why handy controls work ok and msx don't

All these cores are already in the buildbot nightlies. Buemsx should have the patches too, but doesn't start normally now, it won't load any game, at least on my Wii.

It's working for me with the nightlie build. Just needed to copy the MACHINES folder from the bluemsx standalone package into retroarch "systems" folder. It crashes sometimes with zipped roms and I still can't find a way to change disks on multidisk games.

edit: libretro site describes the disk swap function using a m3u file, didnt test this on wii yet

edit2: when DATABASES folder is located on retroarch "systems" folder (following the core instructions), it won't load up any game. Removing it made some games work (Metal Gear), but it crashes with others (Aleste)
