[SOLVED]
(There was a way, on meta.xml of a Wii or even GC game in the line of "drc_use" change the 1 located after "lenght=4" to 65537, this way CC emulation will be enabled, however if you're looking further, to change the emulation to horizontal or vertical wiimote, then.
Locate a game you have that already emulated the desired controller, go to its TheGame/code/fw.img, you want to copy its fw.img to the game you're changing the controller emulation to. This process is not recommended atleast by now for you if you've never used FTPiiU Everywhere to acces your Wii U's NAND as messing with something you shouldn't asides of the games could compromise your Nintendo Wii U console).

Hi, I have some injected vWii games and also some eShop ones like DKC Returns, etc. My point is that I don't want to reinject them to change the gamepad emulation config to another controller (changing none emulation, to horizontal wiimote emulation, for example) and I'd read that it is a simple text to modify on the code folder via FTP. (or content? I doubt it) but I can't find that thread so, anyone knows about the topic?

What is stopping you from trying? Just boot FTPiiU-anywhere from the homebrew loader, browse to the folder which has the TitleID of the game you're try'na fix and look around ;)

iirc, the file that determines this is the meta.xml. it will have a number next to it which the system identifies as specific controllers, so you'll have to mess with that or find somewhere that shows what the numbers mean. the meta.xml is in the meta folder if you try looking.

I would just reinject them. Using FTP could be risky of brick not worth the risk.

We're not talking weeks or months to get them done it's a matter of a few days and you will have them done and then you won't have to think about it anymore. It would be much worse if you brick your Wii U and are regretting it.

Not to be rude but people B acting like if every kind of interaction with FTPiiU is a brick. At the end of the day the worse that could happen modifying a text file for a vWii game especifically, on the game's folder is the game getting no playable at all, but just deleting it would do it, as long as no messing up with the meta folder which is the only thing that wouldn't let you delete the game if something goes wrong with it. Vita's Homebrew scene is a great example of this, you use a file manager constantly where important stuff is located to do any simple thing, from emulation, to games, to plugins, etc.
Anyways I do recognize that less tech-y or just people that prefer a more safe method would go over these things, but if I can't find anything about this simple file modifying thing again guess I'll have to do what u recommending.

you are correct. as long as you don't mess with system files, you should be okay. a corrupted game will appear as a question mark tile. even if the icon is messed up, this will happen. it won't hurt anything, just the game won't boot. games will be installed to mlc or usb, so it won't be in the same partition as system software.

Do what you want, but I find it more hilarious people like you act they just can't reinject instead they want to risk going through ftp. Instead of arguing with me you could already have been doing that. But it is your Wii U if you want to modify an injected vwii through ftp by all means go for it, you could have had several games reinjected from the start of this thread until now is my point.

I mean you're calling me "less tech-y" but it's you that made a thread asking for advice, so you're not exactly an expert.

just don't do it with a cbhc title, because the game then won't boot. I once did this with haxchi when I didn't know the save settings. I figured them out in a post on psx place, so I managed to fix it. now, I'm using cbhc with the same title, and my cbhc icon says redNAND on it text and icon.

If the games are installed to the USB drive and you're only using FTP to edit files on games installed to the USB drive, you aren't at risk of bricking. If, however, the games are on the NAND and you're messing with them, then you could be at risk of bricking.

Then why aren't you telling the OP how to do it instead of trying to correct me, unless you don't know how.

I mean its a post in OP's thread, one would hope they can read what I said to you and digest that information for themselves. That info may have been correcting you, but it's free info for anyone else that reads it.

You're still trying to correct me and not helping the OP. If it's simple you should know what to tell the OP to do. Otherwise my advice stands.

I'm not trying to correct anything at this point, I'm just responding to your telling me that my info isn't being directed hard enough at OP.

I can't guarantee every control scheme will work. I know the file, just not the name of the code or what the numbers mean. I think some were able to get the pro controller to work with ds games by modifying that file. I don't know what happens if you mess up meta.xml, but icons and backgrounds for the gamepad or the tv (separate files) will cause the name to be three question marks as well, and it won't boot. I'm fairly sure that's what would happen if you corrupted it.

3rd chance you are useless.
Wow, I don't know why you're so angry, I'm not being useless, I'm helping OP know that the info you were trying to give him was actually incorrect, he's safe to edit data in ftpiiu if the data is from games on the USB drive. That is helpful info for OP that was being represented incorrectly with your original post. My response to you has merit as info for OP.

I say just use common sense. backup the file first before you mess with it, and don't mess with random files.
Agreed, make sure you understand what you're editing and you'll be fine, I've used ftpiiu multiple times to change meta data, N64 and DS brightness settings, N64 widescreen, DS control schemes, icons, banners, and boot sounds all without issue. Though I always be sure to have the games on the usb drive before making any such adjustments, and like you said, backup any of the data I'm altering.

the game on nand should be okay as well. that's the mlc. system software is on the slc including tickets and whatnot. however, I do agree to be careful regardless. there's no recovery aside from a hard mod if you modify the wrong file. the meta.xml contains content id, serial code, and game name as well, so you'll know you're in the right place. :D
