How to transfer WiiU BotW Savegame to your Switch

In this simple tutorial I will explain how to transfer you BotW save file from your WiiU or Cemu to the Switch.

1) Grab you WiiU BotW savegame, you can use SaveMii if you use a WiiU, or if you use Cemu, go to:
US: Cemu\mlc01\usr\save\00050000\101c9400\user\80000001
EUR: Cemu\mlc01\usr\save\00050000\101c9500\user\80000001

This is how your BotW save file should look like:

2) Now we need to convert the savegame, or it won't work with the Switch.
(Make sure both versions of BotW have the same update version)

Download this tool:
https://github.com/WemI0/BOTW_SaveConv/releases

Move it into the savegame folder:

Run it, and press "y" to start the conversion. (PS: Make a backup of your savegame folder, it will overwrite the files)

Wait a bit, and once the conversion finished, you should see that:

Delete "BOTW_SavConv.exe" from the savegame folder.

3) Now we can start the injection, boot into atmosphere, and use checkpoint to inject the saves:

PS: if you want to edit your BotW savegame:

I know this is a really old thread but is it possible to do this with the wiiu v1.5 and the switch v1.6? Cause wiiu only went up to 1.5

I know i'm late to the party, but I recently got a switch and would like to finish botw on it instead of the wii u. I can no longer find the converter at the github site and have gotten as far as extracting the Wii U save data to my PC. Any help after this point would be appreciated, as I can't really find any other alternatives online for converting wii u game saves to switch.

Couple of potentially dumb questions as well:
- If i can get a program to convert the wii u save data to switch's format, will i need to run something like HomeBrew on my switch?
- do I need to use a different sd card than the one i'm currently saving my switch games on? I have a 128GB card but it has other switch games and dlc data saved on it, but that's the only micro sd card i currently have that's big enough to also hold botw data. afaik, the switch only has 1 port for external memory storage so wasn't sure if i'd have to transfer all that's on the current card to PC, re-format, put new botw data on that card, copy over other game data, etc, etc.

You can use this tool which is a derivative:
https://github.com/DeltaJordan/BotW-Save-Manager

1. You'll need to run a savedata manager to "load" the converted data, you can use EdiZon (there's no risk as long as you don't connect to the internet while using homebrews and you just use the said homebrew)
2. No need for a different card

Hi! I tried moving my WiiU BOTW save to my Switch to finish the game and it's not working. I am at my wits end with this. I've tried Edizon, Neuman, and Checkpoint. What files should I have after running the save manager program? It almost looks like the program isn't converting anything, the files appear to be the same and the "modified" date on them isn't updating. Any help would be appreciated.

(EDIT: I am an idiot....I figured out I was using the BotWSaveManager incorrectly. I wasn't saving the output to a new directory after converting, so the files were still WiiU files when I tried to put them on my Switch)
