I remember one day when my dad came back and got a copy of Prince of Persia the Sands of Time and Unreal Tournament 2003 for my brother and me, I've already played PC games before but those 2 are I think the firsts of the games I can remember a lot when I was younger
But wtf is this shit, it looks ugly, it tears my heart apart to see that
It honestly looks like Huntdown the freeman in some part, if it wasn't published by Ubi I would have guessed that it was an amateur project made by someone on Unreal Engine 4
So the PS5 and the Xbox Series are coming and they dare release something like that ? I'm sure they just gave the project to some random studio who had 0 experience in this kind of stuff and made it anyway

What's worse is that they'll say that despite people asking for a Prince of Persia game, nobody bought it when they made one so it must be because actually nobody wants a Prince of Persia game so we'll never have one. I hope I am wrong tho, but come on, how can they ...

IDK if this remake sells well, they could remake Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.
I remember playing every version of it (PS2, GBA and PC)
Now I am expecting if Yuri Lowenthal voices the Prince of Persia again in the remake, since this game was his first voice acting role.

I really enjoyed this game when it came out, the mechanics of the game were new and it was fun. By today's standards , nobody will be impressed by rewinding time in a game, it's been done to death. They had one thing to do, it was to get the graphics right. As someone said a few posts before, it looks like amateur work. Garbage is the right word. Ubisoft rarely gets my money, and they definitely won't on this one if graphics don't improve.

Most games that look ugly seems to simply not have shadows or have them be very poorly done, kinda like yakuza 0 during a cutscene vs normal gameplay. I wonder if it's hard to do or too demanding.

I see what people mean, but my nostalgia is beating graphics on this one.

What mainstream/big game has time travel as it main mechanic like this?

Yes! The first game is all I needed, thank you. I played it to death on my GameCube.

Yeah, uhm, that's because the series went downhill from the start. The first one was really great, then the second one was meh, more focused on the beat em up than the puzzle/platforming, then the third was basically a generic beat em up. And then the series went really, really bad. The newer game are QTEs from start to finish, à la Heavy Rain, but way, waaaaay worse.

Man, they really don't care how they misuse terms. This looks more like an hd update than a remake. Tweak some things, some new textures and effects, but the same code more or less. Maybe so they can charge full price rather than the reduced "upgraded port" price?
