All I have to say is this:
If they do this, it's over for consoles! Us believers in our GLORIOUS LORD AND SAVIOUR GABEN's love and grace's devotion will have paid off at last! While we needed emulators for consoles up to the Wii U and the Switch, if Sony starts going full Microsoft in supporting PC (and yes, as much as I wouldn't mind seeing them get kicked to the curb and left to wither away on the streets of the marketplace, timed exclusivity on EGS I suppose could count, if only for the fact that the game's code has been optimized to run on PC hardware, and that, if one really wanted to play a game right then and there, they at least have *cough*...ahem, other options of playing it that don't require EGS, if you know what I mean), we won't need a PS4 emulator like Orbital or Spine to play the few exclusive games on the platform!
You know, it's funny. Back in 2015, I wanted to build a gaming PC, but someone who I thought was my best friend wanted me to get an Xbox One. And when I say wanted, I mean, "this will be the end of our friendship" if I didn't get one. I was telling him that Microsoft was gonna be allowing people to play what I assumed at the time was just their games on both PC and Xbox One. I didn't think it was ever gonna get the push or support that its ended up getting now, and I sure as fuck didn't expect all of their games to come to Steam, which means that, if you think about it, you don't even need Windows to play these games anymore! You could use Linux with WINE or Steam Proton, and play Killer Instinct or Halo just fine! Hence why I get a very devilish grin when shit like this happens, because this person who I thought was my friend got so pissed over me not getting an Xbox One just because I had always wanted a good gaming PC and I told him a future that I didn't think would actually happen, but it did, and I am definitely not complaining!
The only thing that could kill all of this is some of the rumblings about PC's switching over to ARM in terms of CPU architecture. Granted, a part of me thinks that's more for laptops and not so much for desktops, but who knows. It seems like the trend nowadays is to make everything operate like a smartphone in terms of people not having to worry about using files and the like, what with Windows 10S and some of the things I've heard about Windows 10X.
