After you setup your source menu did select each source and do reload cache. Or better yet delete your wiiflow/cache/lists folder.
I second that.
Another thing I could see as being an issue lies in the nes.cfg file found in USB1://ROMS/0_HEXAECO_cfg which has many arguments referencing directories in SD that otherwise I have on USB?
Yes, true. I've left my Retroarch and RA-HEXAECO cfg files, already setup with resolution and scanlines for 16:9 TV's, and updated paths (not using the /private folders anymore but the wiiflow/plugins/RA-HEXAECO subfolders).
You can change sd to usb1 in all entries if you want to keep them, or you can just delete all cfg's files but you'll have to reconfigure the emu.
This is important for people playing on CRT TV's, who need 240p resolutions and no scanlines overlays.

Edit. Since you have the latest beta wfl dol just go to the source menu. Pick a tier. And press home button on controller to open the source menu options menu. Here you can link buttons to plugins and set plugin rom paths.

I did reload cache and tried to select the specific plugins through the source menu. The one thing I didn't get a chance to try was to just delete my Wiiflow cache/lists folder. I'll see if that works.

@xLAKITUx Except for a few ones, all plugins are set to rompartition=-1 which is wiiflow's default partition.
Out of curiosity: on your previous installation (the workig one) did you have to change it to =1?

Usually, an immediate wiiflow logo followed by a reboot means no .dol is found. Instead, if no game is found, it will load the app's main menu.
If the game lists are not updated after a change, Wiiflow will read from the old lists (with games on USB) but when you try to launch a game it won't be found, becaue the partition or path has been changed.
So I think too that deleting the game lists will fix the issue, but I find it strange that nothing happened reloading the cache. @fledge68 I thought it also refreshed the lists.

yes tetsuo. reload cache recreates the list of the current source/plugin selected.

he will have to selected 1 source and do reload cache, select another source and do reload cache, and so on and so on (at least for each one that is not working correctly)

or just delete the wiiflow/cache/lists folder and when wiiflow runs it will recreate the lists.

after doing this - if his games and covers show up then his romdir, rompartion, and filetypes are all ok.
if it says it couldnt find any roms in rom path and the rom path is correct then filetyps does not include your roms file extension.
if the roms path is wrong you need to fix it. go to the source menu/flow - press Home and select set rom paths- select the plugin - browse to your rom folder and click done or finish.

OK - Unfortunately, I am still getting the same issue when trying to load any of the RA-HEXAECO Plugins. WiiFlow logo->Boot back to WFL Menu (This is using WiiFlow WFL 5.4.7 beta 2)

1) I fixed the issue with Genesis folder not finding any ROMs. The RA-HEXAECO .ini file in the Megadrive plugins folder had the Sega/Mega CD file types, NOT the Genesis file types. (It was basically looking for CHD/CHK, not .zip or .gen)

2) I deleted the cache/lists folder to start from scratch... didn't help

3) I took all the RA-HEXAECO .cfg files and did a replace all for every instance of "SD" to replace it with "USB1"

I'm sorry, this is really strange. Thanks for reporting the genplusgx ini wrong filetypes and any other inaccuracy. I must have used the Mega CD ini as a base and forgot to change that line. There were so many things to check out that I missed something.
I'm so sorry about that.
So, another thing that comes to my mind is that the RA-HEXAECO plugins need the Bios files in wiiflow/plugins/RA-HEXAECO/system. Do you have them?

Ugh. I don't. For some reason, I didn't think that the NES, SNES needed BIOS? Why is RA-HEXAECO different?

Hey, @Tetsuo Shima . I've made some small changes to the WiiMC-SS and Music_Player plugins.

- wiimc-ss.ini had an incorrect dol address that prevented the dol from booting.
Changed dolfile=WiiMC-SS/wiimc-ss.dol to dolfile=Media/WiiMC-SS/wiimc-ss.dol

- Music_Player.ini added file types .PLS and .M3U for playlists

Edit: - wiimc-ss.ini also had an incorrect banner sound address, similar to the dol address. Updated download link with the fix.

@xLAKITUx Yes, I'm really scratching my head! It's strange:
- filetypes are correct
- romdir is correct
- rompartition is correct (right?)
- dolfile is correct
- plugin does not require bios
- cache lists are reloaded
- the games were running before (I assume)
- folder structure is intact

Yet It doesn't launch the emulators. I've just tried again on my side and Fceumm RA-HEXAECO is running good, so there must be something small.
I'm out of ideas at the moment. You could try to totally remove the .cfg files and let it recreate them.
but really I wonder how can it be.

This is wonderful, thanks! I'm no expert with media players on Wii, and I knew that something could not be right or up to date.
I knew that you would keep a special eye on them. Thanks for your help
I'm also sorry for all these stupid mistakes by me, I'm really glad for all of you that are helping to find and fix issues.

FINALLY GOT IT RUNNING. It must have had something to do with the .cfg files. As soon as I removed the nes.cfg from the roms/0_RA-HEXAECO folder, I was able to boot up FCEUMM fine!

Then, I opened up SNES (which still had the snes.cfg file from your pack, in which I replaced all the instances of "SD" with "USB"), and the emulator crashses.

I wonder if the first time RA-HEXAECO boots, you need to let it build those .cfg files?

Great!!! So it must be something in the cfg files still pointing to SD.
I think I'll better remove all the cfg's files. I thought it was handy to include them, to spare people the trouble of configuring the video.
Do you have the same problem with standard Retroarch? The cfg files for that are in device:/Retroarch

No I think that's working actually. To test that, I went ahead and went to my Game Boy section of the source menu (which I have defaulting to use wiimednafen) - First I loaded with wiimednafen, worked fine. Unchecked that box in the "Select Plugins", and instead selected Gameboy (Gambatte lr) - That also booted up fine.

One issue that I have noticed is that often when I boot up a game and then exit back to the WFL menu through an emulator, it launches me back to that source menu but it will say "No plugin selected" - If I go back to the "Handhelds" screen, and click the Game Boy icon, cover view will displayed and my default plugin (in this case, Wiimednafen) will be selected. (Or I can just refresh cache) Seems to be a bit buggy?

I feel like I noticed some other strange occurrences that I'll obviously continue to update you on as I get to poke around here and test more. At this point, I'm just so happy to get the ra-hexaeco stuff working! Can't wait to play around with the settings and get these puppies looking as close to CRT as I can on my LED. :-D

Ok that behaviour is happening for me too, when using the select plugin feature. I think it's a little bug that we can report to Fledge.
If you use the new Source Menu Setup, pressing home in the Source flows menus (the wheel and tiers) it doesn't happen.
Good, I'm happy that you sorted this out. If you ever need assistance for scanlines and screen resolution, just let me know and I wil be happy to help.

okay i tried figuring out your little bug but i can't find it.
it sounds like if you go to the Home Menu and Select Plugin Menu and select a plugin. then if you select a game and play it and return back to wiiflow.
here's where i'm confused - do you have source menu on start?
do you see "no plugins selected" when you should be viewing sourceflow?
or are you pressing B to go back to the games coverflow and that's when "no plugins selected" shows?

I have no source menu on start. After I play it returns to the last selected game.
Here's an example of this issue:
I have Fceux TX for Nes in my source menu
I go to Select Plugin, put the checkmark on NES Wiimednafen and uncheck FceuxTX.
I play a game with Wiimednafen and then exit.
There's no more covers and Background, and the "welcome to Wiiflow" message with no plugins found.

I know, after i posted i tested it myself and see it. I've also found the problem and am working on the other issue - the platform background does not change. say i select wii2600 from sourceflow but then select NES via select plugin menu the background stays 2600 and games are NES. should be easy to fix that too.

I saw the WiiFlow 5.4.7 beta 4 .dol and downloaded it, and it mostly fixed everything. But I still have one problem, and it seems exclusively Genesis related.

I have the whole plugin pack installed, but I'm only using 2600, Genesis, NES and SNES. It doesn't matter what plugin I have selected, if I go to another console and play a game, when I go back to Genesis, I get the "no plugins selected" message. I can load a plugin, play a game and return to loader, and all the games are still there. But if I press B to go back to the retro console submenu, and go right back into Genesis, again, "no plugins selected."

The only thing I can find that might make any sense as the cause of this issue is that that there are 5 magic numbers in platform.ini that have [magic number]=MEGADRIVE. But there are only 4 plugins to select from.

I'm using this plugin pack and the latest ver. of WFL with the beta 4 .dol.

Thanks in advance for any help!

edit: I believe your problem is that in @Tetsuo Shima 's consoles.ini button 15 is Genesis and he has the magic number wrong. it is 53454762 and should be 53454761. after you change it you need to start wiiflow - go to genesis and press HOME to select reload cache.
also tetsuo you need to remove 53454762 from platform ini. not sure how it got there.

if this does not do the trick then i need you to answer the questions below.

1. are you using sourceflow or source menu?
2. do you have the other consoles hidden?
3. did you modify tetsuo's source menu ini's manually with a text editor?
