The first PlayStation 5 advertisement goes live early, gets taken down [Update] Officially released

The first PlayStation 5 commercial has aired, though not intentionally. The official Hungarian PlayStation YouTube account let this upcoming advert go live earlier than expected, giving us a look at how the company plans to market their upcoming console. Potentially planned to be broadcast as part of a soccer league finals match later this week, the commercial was removed, though quickly backed up and re-uploaded multiple times. The advertisement is fairly short, only lasting 30 seconds, and focuses mostly on how the DualSense controller feels, and how you'll be able to "see with sound" thanks to the new technology. It then ends on Sony's new slogan for the PS5: "Play Has No Limits". Unfortunately, nothing new such as the console's price was revealed by the ad, though it does remind us that the next generation will soon be upon us.

Update:

PlayStation have released the teaser on their official YouTube channel, the video above has been updated to reflect this. The official video still provides no new information.

uhh
i dont think they want you to buy the console because of the controller
I think they want you to buy the console because of the games
Yeah I get that, but the ad seemed to illustrate an immersive experience citing a controller specification that is nothing new. Why would a multi-billion $ company want to tout technological 'advances' that have been done before. Seems a little odd. I understand the lack of gameplay footage because, well, we live in a mass consumer-based society where watching a youtube video about a video game is almost 40% as good as playing it. I'm being a little facetious, but at the same time feel Sony believe they have this one in the bag. Feeling like your on top versus being on top are two seperate things entirely. Only time will tell if this battle will prove a win for them...I agree over their ip's and games.

This is definitely meant more for the mainstream audience that still watches cable TV and/or browses Youtube without an adblocker. At some point soon, they're guaranteed to run a much longer stream or live-stream targeted at the dedicated gaming audience.

I guess a good question to ask people who are buying a next gen at launch have you guys finished your games on this gen? That's mainly ther reason I'm not buying next gen right away since I have a ton of backlog to play. Seems kinda wrong to buy a new console and neglect games that you paid for but haven't beat.

Not all of them, no, but that's actually a big part of the reason why I'm buying a PS5: to play much of my PS4 library at 60 FPS (or even more if it's an option for backwards compatible titles). It makes a huge difference, especially when trying to tackle already-challenging games, like God of War, at higher difficulty settings.

tbh i kinda doubt sony will even try increasing framerates on preexisting ps4 games
they've already confirmed they dont give a fuck with them putting all of the launch titles at 30 for some unholy reason
i'd rather wait for a ps4 emulator on PC

Just like how @64bitmodels said I dont think PS5 are enhancing the games. I know Series-X is doing that but not too sure about PS5. Here is a current list of free upgrades I think it will depend on the publisher

https://www.pushsquare.com/guides/ps4-to-ps5-all-games-with-confirmed-free-upgrades
Yeah, I'm not too worried about it though considering PS4 Pro manages 45 FPS in nearly all games with a mere 4 TFLOPs. Upping it to 60 FPS with 10.5 TFLOPs should be a trivial matter, especially considering how similar the chipset and architecture is between PS4 and PS5. Even if it only performs at PS4 Pro levels for BC games initially, that'd still be a fair improvement over my base PS4.

OTOH if they wanna try to sell me "enhanced" PS5 versions of games I already own on PS4, Sony can go suck a fat one. I'd sell my PS5 at a small loss and just wait for the games to come to PC instead. Let's hope they aren't that stupid, because upgrading just a few of my PC's components would cost me well over $500 at the moment.

As if they still are, lol
Its gotten to the point where having physical games is a luxury rather than a necessity
Sure, most AAA titles still have physical options, but indies have already gone full digital. this makes sense though given the fact that theyre indies and they probably dont have enough money to mass produce physicals
but then you have games like fallout 76 where the disc granted with the physical release just contains a digital code on it. granted fallout 76 is complete hogwash and it's amazing how one would even buy the game in the first place, but still this is a sign of things to come
fallout 76 does have a disc xbox one/ ps4 version, sure it requires an update to work but they paid for the disc so they paid the same price as anyone for the physical edition.

Remember Switch trailer and the "ice cube shake" feature? Yeah, turn out nobody give a fuck about it afterward. This will hardly be any notable when you play.

Does this make you want to buy it asap? For me, not really

Exactly my thoughts. But I'll buy it nonetheless. Still, this trailer is just pr stuff. Showing not a single in game graphic or anything that has changed to previous generations (the mentioned stuff doesn't really make up for upgrading), it will still be "only" a new console and not the absolute top notch which they made up for in the last in-game tech demo.

The Ad makes little sense. Doesn't show the console's capabilities.
At least make the girl walk around in a fully 3D environment.

At lest the girl is beautiful, so there's that.

So, you're referring to cool stuff like this that has been done millions of times before?

"Deathloop game director, Dinga Bakaba explains one feature that uses the DualSense controllers feedback, “One I like is blocking the triggers when your weapon jams, to give to the player an immediate feedback even before the animation plays out, which prompts the player in a physical way that they have to unjam their gun.”

EA: Your trigger is blocked, meaning you can't shoot. in order to gain shooting priveleges, please pay for the shoot dlc for only 56 dollars (per month)

Down the road I will pick up a PS5/Series-X 3 years down the road where I can get them both for $600. I like both Sony and Microsoft I can't pick only just 1. For Nintendo I will just buy it to keep it inside the box and wait for the exploit :ha:

youd be better off waiting for an emulator imo
Also if you have a decent gaming pc you might was well save your money and just get a ps5
since all of xbox's games are coming to pc
