I tried to install this on my Wii that has a Wode attached to it, but was unable to play it due to getting an error when trying to move the save file from the SD card to the system. It says that you have to play the game before it will let you copy the game.

I have a modded Wii and got the same message, but after you launch it and get the first error about the save file it lets you copy it. I can't wait to play this game now!

Hello everyone. Just a little message to ask for your feedbacks on my work, now that some of you must have kicked the games.

If you could leave some comments on Romhacking.net, that would be very much appreciated, especially for "Ikenie", since people can't see the number of downloads (it's hosted on Dropbox because of its size), and think the translation is some sort of scam.

Don't feel forced of course, but that would be nice. Thank you in advance, I'm going back on working the next translation !

Have a nice WE !

It's done, waiting for approval. ;)

Just noticed that and turned the rumble off, too-- it's a real shame, since I love rumble!! For me, every single time I pointed at someone, and it rumbled, it immediately threw my pointer 180-degrees away from the person I was pointing at! Why do you think that is? I can only assume that it's not supposed to be that way.

EDIT: Just tried again, I can see that if I really, REALLY, really REALLY just tilt the Wiimote ever so slowly (and by that, I mean, just keep it at a 35-degree angle to the censor bar and watch the cursor move) and sneak up on the hitbox for these characters, I can get it not to move so much. Maybe it's also because I'm using a Wiimote with Motion Plus? The whole "shake the Wiimote to turn around" must be setting off when it vibrates.

The translation is gorgeous-- thank you for championing the Wii's outlying beauties. : D

It was already mentionned, but i played and finished the game and had no problem with the pointer, unlike Fatal Frame 4 which i'm still cursing about this crappy aiming system with the gyro sensor.

Damn it ! My review ha been rejected because i made more a review of the game than the translation itself.

I rewrote it again. Wait and see.

I just stumbled upon your post for this translation Brand Newman. First off I wanted to congratulate and thank you on this great effort and work! I will be trying it out as soon as I can hook up my wii to a modern TV. My wii (PAL) is hooked up to a CRT with scart and running the game in usbloader only seems possible in "disc default" mode which makes the image red. I also tried injecting the iso onto my wii u with teconmoon's program, but alas the game does not load even after patching it to pal.
Still I cannot wait to try it out!

Thank you for your message. If you meet difficulties running the game on a 60 htz screen and the "readme" doesn't help, please come to me !

I'm using the ISO method, but I cannot copy the provided save, hence I cannot boot the game. The wii says "you must first play this game on your wii console before copying the save data". Any help?

Edit: Fixed it. For anyone else having this problem, run the game at least once with WiiFlow, not Usb Loader GX. Once you load it with wiiflow, it will allow you to copy the data. But if you run it with USB Loader, even if the "times played" is higher than 0, for some reason USB Loader will not create the profile needed to copy the data. After that is done, the game will load fine on both USB Loader and WiiFlow.

Thanks for sharing. I wasn't aware of that myself! At least you got to read the error message in English and confirm it got successfully translated ;)

Hope you'll enjoy the game and have a nice day!

@Brand Newman

You guys mean that is an error in the translated iso?
I have test this game (untranslated) a long time ago with my USA wii (region chnaged from Jap) with only usbloadergx. Though I didn't go very far into game, I was at least able to copy the save data necessary to make the game work.

No it's not related to the translation. People always had trouble booting the game on non Japanese wii, don't know exactly why. That's why you can find threads on the internet about that, as well as downloadable savefiles. So when I started to translate, I created a "fresh" savefile with the names translated, and put it with the patch for users to copy it on their wiis. Apparently it's better to use wiiflow to boot the game once, so that the wii actually allows you to copy.

I tried to copy the save data and had the same issue, so I launched it once, let it crash out with the weird symbols, restarted my wii u, then I re-launched the wii data management, was able to copy the data without error and next time i loaded it, it worked, I can play it via configurable usb loader off the SD card.

Glad it worked. If you had weird characters, you probably don't use the last version, which shouldn't be and issue since I only slightly modified the patch for the game to give English error messages, instead of gibberish.

Anyway, you can check the version of your patch by playing the "Intro." chapter.

Yours truly.

I don't think it is related to the translation either but I also don't think its related to the loader used.
We now have success stories on Wiifow, usbloadergx and configurable usb loader.

IIRC, the first weird characters I encountered with the game hanging was something about Nunchuk being contnected which the game doesn't like. Of course, I got pass that.

The exact reason why you couldn't transfer the save file is because the console cannot find the game ticket. All games and channels use tickets, in the case of games, when the ticket is missing, rejects it and therefore does not allow to transfer the save file. But if you run the game before, then that ticket is created and already let the save file transfer be successful ^_^

Thank you but the thing we don't get is why the ticket doesn't get created like it does with other games.

It should be mentioned that newer versions of Dolphin don't have any trouble booting the game, when a real console needs the ticket to be created.

That being said, I didn't have trouble to install the savegame using the SD card (which is why I provided the method as first choice in the readme). I don't know why others did. Maybe they used the other file (Dolphin) with savegame manager?

Glad people managed to play the game at the end anyway.

i was unable to install the savegame initially, in data management, it told me i needed to have played the game at least once. So I ran it without the save, let it "crash" and I rebooted into vWii on my WiiU I was able to then copy the game save to internal memory without getting the error about needing to play it once first, then it launched fine through CFG USB Loader.

Seems like a restriction by the Wii itself and not anything you did. I love this game so far though. You're so awesome for sharing this.

Thank you for your message. I suppose I did the same many years ago when I bought the game and the ticket created itself, which is why I didn't have issues installing my save file afterward.

So to summarize, it seems that :
- if you own a copy of the game, boot it once and let it "crash", then install your save file and play either with disc+riivolution, or the loader of your choice.
- if you only have an ISO, use wiiflow the 1st time and let it "crash", don't use usb loader since apparently it won't create the ticket. After you've copied the save file, use the loader of your choice.

Correct, that seems to be what got it to load.

NO !
I only have the iso and it worked with usbloadergx (never interested in Wiiflow /lite) - the whole point of my prvious posts.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
