Nintendo Indie World Showcase August 18th - Roundup - Goose Game gets co-op update

It isn't a Nintendo Direct, but for now, it's the best we're going to get. Catch the latest stream of Nintendo's Indie World Showcase, which is set to go live soon, at 9 am PT, where we'll see all the indie games that are headed to the Nintendo Switch. The broadcast will last for 20 minutes, and will hopefully bring some exciting announcements to the table. Settle in, and keep updated by checking this thread for our live updates, as always.

Spiritfarer is a management game. You get to help dead souls make it to places across the sea where they can rest in peace. Launches today.

This next game features fishing, home building, and speaking to your friendly neighborhood friends. The game is called Garden Story and is an action-adventure title where you get to build, scavenge, fight, and befriend, in 2021.

Subnautica is headed to the Switch. So is the sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero. Early 2021.

Takeshi and Hiroshi is a game where you play as an older brother developing a game that his younger brother gets to experience and help affect its development. Launches today.

Raihi: An Ancient Epic. A new studio is developing an Indian-based game about traditions and myths. You get to fight an ancient demon lord by leveling up your weapons. Later today, timed exclusive.

Bear and Breakfast is about taking an old run-down mansion and turning it into a hotel. Launches timed exclusive next year.

A Short Hike. This game has you chilling out and hiking around a landscape, finding secrets and other hikers. It's yet another timed console exclusive out today.

Cheat in card games with the high stakes of death, in Card Shark. 2021.

Torchlight III will come to the Switch. Pets are returning. Fall 2020. If you play on Switch, you'll get an exclusive pet, to boot.

Manifold Garden mixes art and optical illusions. You solve puzzles to progress. Launches later today.

Evergate is developed by Stone Lantern Games and has been in the works for four years. 2D adventure platformer. You can slow down time to make your way through the world. There are puzzles and platforming challenges. Again, launches later today.

Haven launches later this year, Going Under launches Sept 24, The Red Lantern launches Fall 2020, Unrailed! launches Sept 23 with a demo later today, Struggling launches Aug 27, Inmost is August 21, She Dreams Elsewhere is Early 2021 and has an Undertale aesthetic. Gonner2 launches Fall 2020.

That's a wrap.

Or...not.

Honk honk honk.

House House has more Goose Game for us! What's better than a single jerk goose? Why not 2? Free update on Sept 23 brings coop to the game.

Raji and Evergate were two relatively bland spots in the presentation to me - one looks like a dime a dozen action adventure with sky view perspective (of which there were many on XBLA/PSN years before), and the other seems to take a bit too much inspiration from Ori. Just my opinion though, and the rest is very solid overall.
so was those Call of Duty and Gears of War clones that were flooding Gamestop years ago, shit i rather play those then the trash you probably like

Might wanna update the video in OP, they took down the original (because of video quality I think?)

I think it's for the sake of trimming out the stuff before the actual show case
aka the title card they stream for 10-30 minuets so everyone can load the stream before the actual content starts

Manifold Garden is pretty good. Probably the closest we will ever get to a sequel of the amazing Antichamber.

I'm guessing the draw distance will be turned way down for the switch port, which will take away from the awe-inspiring infinity views, but it'll probably still look nice.

I wonder how muddy/blurry Subnautica is going to look.

I didn't expect anything amazing today, so I'm not disappointed either.

Sometimes in these "Showcases" there are one or two hidden gems, but lately they have been pure bull crap. I like some indie games, there are some really good ones out there, but to be honest the vast majority of them are just too plain and boring. I don't think they should be holding special "showcases" to announce this kind of games. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea to help those little companies grow and show their games, that`s great, but 9 out of 10 indie games (or maybe 39 out of 40) just aren't good. My 2 cents.

I'm pretty surprised to see subnautica on there, I think the developers said that they had to work out a lot of performance issue to get it on ps4, how is it going to run on the switch

We already have Zelda, pokemon, mario, and metroid on the way. I understand the argument of nintendo not putting out enough games but these examples don't make sense to me
Except Metroid will not be released on the switch just like N64 never got a Metroid. By the time that game is finished Nintendo will have already released another home console.

BRING US MOTHER 3! :P Actually, I was never an EarthBound fan; I just thought that would be funny.

Hmmm, Indie titles I would hope would come to the Switch... perhaps the rest of the Myst series, Obduction, any of the FlipLine Studios titles... gosh, I'm struggling to remember. I'll have to get back on this one.

Some of the indie games looks interesting. Might check them out when I have a chance. Should also finish TL2 at some point.

i feel nintendo does it to prevent rebroadcasting by other youtubers shame it is that way cause some people are at work/school at the time it's live I rather see a previous broadcast than having a friend spoil it to me
