If you restore a save with checkpoint must there be a save file for the game first or can you install from a fresh start, also can I restore saves made with checkpoint with another save manager. I'm trying to restore my earlier Mario odyssey save but it's s fresh install of the game that I haven't even started yet, checkpoint says save restored successfully but doesn't show when starting the game. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
first, this is a 3ds thread.

second, you don't need an existing save. if you are having so much troubles, may i suggest playing the game for like 10 minutes, getting a save state and replacing it? simple lol.

Sorry for posting in the wrong the forum, thanks for answering my question though that's very decent of you. I hate using the net on my phone for this exact reason. I'll try what you suggested and post back in the correct place

I just picked up a new 3DS XL on 11.8, so it looks like my options for installing cfw are ntrboot or update to latest firmware and use seedminer. Is seedminer the preferred option?

I do have an old R4i Gold 3DS (v9) that looks like it should be compatible with ntrboot. If I do use that method is there any risk of not being able to flash the card back to a normal DS flash card? I’ve read that once this card is flashed it can’t be flashed back, but I think that’s old info or just wrong. Thanks.

Everytime I place my backups in the appropriate folder to run with twilight menu, my micro sd card seems to throw them away. It copies it over, but when i open twilightmenu, it does not show anything. When i put the micro sd card back into my computer, the files i just copied are gone. I keep changing show hidden folders so I can see my gba games f.e., but the only button I can press is 'b', and by doing so twilight does not save anything.. I am using a new 2ds xl, everything has been updated to the latest builds such as luma/gm9/twilight etc.

What's going on and what can i do? Please don't tell me that my sd card is dying because then I must be the single person on the earth who has had 5 sd cards and 1 console dying over the past 2 years just by using general CFW things such as twilightmenu.

If you already have an ntrboot-compatible flashcart, then ntrboot might be easier, and the risk to your flashcart is minimal. That being said, seedminer isn't difficult, and it's a fine option.

In the first step and already fudged this up. Bruteforce wasn’t giving me the download option so I wanted to start over and deleted the bot from my friends list. Now bruteforce won’t give me the friend code but gives me the download button. Can I continue with the bot deleted?

Hey! You are a lifesaver (again!) Thank you!! Besides the SD card at the moment, the 2DS XL runs like a charm still one year down the line. Your tips helped a tremendous amount! Thanks again!

Hi everybody,
A few years ago I bought a prehacked 3ds with gateway installed and blue and red cards included.Since buying I haven't bothered updating anything and have only used the red card since that's why I bought it and everything works well and I was scared to update it.I have old r4 nds files and cheats I would like to switch over to play on the 3ds using gateway blue, but when I went to do so the Blue card doesn't have any files on it.I have a card formatted to fat32, but I can't seem to find a link to blue card firmware and set up info, only the redcard. I have a ver 9.2.0-20U 3ds with outdated but operational homebrew. I don't feel like switching to luma because gateway works and I have no clue what I'm doing.I was hoping I could please get a link to instructions and firmware for gateway bluecard, and to know if I can add in old cheat codes like the r4 allowed.

thank you

Well hello there guys,

I am owning a N2DSXL on which i have gm9 and luma installed.

My problem however is, that my old NDS for which i had a flashcard (think it was an M3 something) seems to have died some time ago.

So I have been wanting to play the DS games on my N2DSXL, for which ive been using Twilight Menu till now.

However I am not really satisfied with the compatibility overall, since its basically just software emulation i guess ?

For that reason ive been looking into flashcards again, got recommended to simply buy an r4 and have now ordered this card, since the ebay price tempted me pretty much : R4isdhc Gold Pro 2020

Though now Ive read that this specific card seems to just be a clone or something and also has a time bomb. :(

However Ive also heard about YSMenu which apparently functions as a workaround for the time bombs of such cards.

So my questions basically is : Am I still able to run every DS game there is without problems on this card with/or without YSMenu or should i get a different card ?

Thank you in advance for reading and the answers. :)

It's not emulation. TWL++ uses nds-bootstrap, which is a hypervisor redirecting all access from cartridge (SLOT-1) to SD card. ← Oversimplified but good enough for the beginning
Generally compatibility has become very good.
If you have problems with specific games, ask in the TWL++ thread for help.

In general most games should work on any modern DS-mode flashcart. Timebomb is not a big deal. Fake date → should work again. When the cart arrives simply try it out to see if you're satisfied with it.
The mostly recommended R4i Gold 3DS Plus using Wood kernel has been out of stock for quite a while now (out of production?).

Good luck and have fun!

Ah I see, kind of :D
The thing is just that i basically want to get as close to native as possible and i just read that flascards are still the best solution for that.

Good to know but how is the compatibility of YSMenu nowadays ?
All Ive read is that it still doesnt function properly with certain games, e.g Pokemon Black.

@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then

How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
