So I haven't touched my Switch in about 4 months or so.

Tonight I wanted to start playing Stardew Valley again lol, so I decided to get my switch up to date and start a new file for fun.

Well I did some research and found out that ATmosphere 0.13 and also 0.14 work with FW 10.1.0

Seeing as I was still on 10.0.1, I decided to update my FW to 10.1.0

I copied all the files from the Atmosphere download, as I usually do, and overwrote the stuff on my SD card with it.

Then I downloaded the 10.1.0 firmware files, and put them in a folder on my CD card.

After everything was done, I updated my Sig patches.

Long story short, I updated my FW from 10.0.1 to 10.1.0 with Choidujour and everything went fine, as it always does.

But when Choidujour was finished and rebooted my switch... everything loads up fine, but once I see the lock screen, It will crash after about 3 seconds, to a grey screen with a bunch of error codes etc... Even if I press the A button 3 times to get out of the lock screen, it shows the home screen w my games etc, but crashes after about 2 or 3 seconds...

Can someone PLEASE help me out with this? You guys have NEVER failed me before, but I am really at a loss for words... I am not sure what I did wrong...

Thanks in advance!,
Jon

Nope. never. Don't even know how to install a theme...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay I just copied over my old atmosphere folder, from Atmosphere 0.10.... and now my switch is working, but it still says im on atmosphere 0.14.1...

Idk if I should leave it alone now, or try and figure this out...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

P.S - The only thing I removed jsut now, when I copied over my old Atmos files, was the SWITCH folder, I removed mine, and replaced it with the one that came in the Atmosphere 0.14.1 zip.

I thought I didnt have the delete the SWITCH and SEPT folder? I thought we could ONLY copy the Atmos folder and it would get updated?

You should always do a "complete" update, since otherwise it can and most likely will result in some kind of error.
I personally always delete almost everything except my games so that the dialog of overwriting files hasn't even a chance to appear.

It's likely some sort of patch or sysmodule causing it to crash. Delete the atmosphere and sept folders and replace them with updated ones. Also be sure to boot using fusee-primary instead of a hekate config

Is it safe to delete ALL folders except for the Nintendo folder? Then just copy over the atmosphere zipped files?

Technically it's safe, but I wouldn't recommend it, as you'll lose your homebrew apps, as well as potentially messing up other homebrew-related things. All you should need to delete is "atmosphere" and "sept"

Not sure if this could be the cause of any of your issues or not but it isn’t recommended to use Choidujour for updating firmware past 6.x.x. This is why latest atmosphere comes with daybreak.nro in the switch folder. It’s stated in the release notes of atmosphere to use the included daybreak homebrew app to update.

Nothing in you’re switch folder should be causing your issue, as nothing should be loading from there on startup unless maybe you have overlays which could be a possible issue. As already stated it’s probably something in your atmosphere folder causing the issue. It’s always recommended to delete both atmosphere and sept folders when upgrading. Merging the contents will cause problems if things change or incompatible modules are left behind.

Example: Emuiibo isn’t compatible with the latest atmosphere and is inside atmosphere/contents folder. If merging the latest atmosphere with what’s already on the SD and Emuiibo is set to enabled then a crash can result.
