Hardware Update to 6.72 with faulty Drive

Hello everyone

is there a possibility to update the PS4 from 6.51 to 6.72 with a faulty drive?
I tried without the drive cable, a different drive .. nothing helps. i got still SU-42118-6 error.

is there another trick?

You would need the magic updater pkg and debug.bin ported to 6.51. Best get asking LightningMods.

if your blueray drive logic board is working you can buy replacement bd and put your logic board on it and replace the bd with the new one with your logic board and it will work unfortunately i dont know how you can check if the logic board works short of getting bd and trying that but in most cases logic board is fine

I was able to repair the bd logic board and update to the desired firmware. Thanks for the help
