Beetle PSX is probably still the project to watch in that regard. There was a successful bounty to add a dynarec, and a second bounty specifically for it to support the Wii U (PowerPC) which is currently unclaimed. lightrec is a project to produce a MIPS dynarec for basically every other architecture, and it's that which was added to Beetle PSX. PowerPC is one of the architectures supported by lightrec, so a PSX core for Wii U is definitely the closest it's ever been.

Note: That doesn't mean we should start hassling the developers. Instead, have patience and consider donating to the bounty.

Agreed. I'd imagine since retroarch is getting some traction on other PowerPC systems too like PS3 that a PowerPC port of this emulator is more relevant, even if the PS3 has a native PS1 emulator though.

Does anyone know to use rapid fire/autofire in Retroarch? It feels like it's necessary for most arcade shooters unless you want to break the buttons on your gamepad, but the only thing I could find was in the options for a specific game, there's the ability to turn Autofire on, but nothing seemed to happen when I tried it.

Hello Everyone!
Sorry if this problem already arose to someone and I missed it skimming through the many posts.

I am trying to use cheats on Retroarch for my CBHC WiiU 5.5.3J. I downloaded CrazyMAC Build and it works flawlessly except for the fact I cannot use cheats except for few games that already have their own preinstalled (e.g. some Mame titles). The updaters have been disabled (I looked through the retroarch.cfg file, and I think this is due to certain issues about unzipping) so I tried to manually place the cht folder which I download from the libretro database. I tried both on the SD root (as 'cheat' named folder) and in the sd/retroarch/media/assets folder. It seems Retroarch cannot see the .cht files at all. It does not matter how do I place the files or to what folder I navigate, it shows only the .bin files (weird).

There is somebody kind enough to help me through this situation?

Any help would be super appreciated!
Thanks for reading!

Hey so I'm about 90% done with my core and rom collection. I just need some advice on one thing, 80-90s computer games (basically all of em). I never realized emulation could get this complicated as i grew up w n64, gba, snes emus as a kid but i need some help on DOS, Atari ST, and all that other stuff. So even if I have these cores on there, do i need some extra setup with files and the guts to get the games to work? Also, I got Quake to run (Quake 2 slow as hell lol) but doesn't let me start a game even though the demo and stuff works fine. I've seen links on that archive for some of this stuff but i just want to make sure what needs to be done for retroarch vs what would be done to get them to run on my laptop. down to learn both either way thanks in advance! I need to have a wired USB keyboard and mouse right? or is wireless cool too??

Sorry if this has been covered, but with the new usb support, is there a way for me to access a Wii U formatted hdd to put retroarch roms on, or do I need a separate, non Wii U formatted usb drive for retroarch roms? Both Windows and Linux only see my Wii U formatted drive as unallocated space.

I realize that now it is possible to use the WIIU formatted HDD to store the roms by transferring over with ftpiiU...

Out of curiousity - is it possible to use the FAT32 HDD with ustealth tht I use for vWII to store roms for wiiu retroarch, or is that not supported?

EDIT: nevermind.. I actually tried gettig retroarch up and running. Took a little fiddling with the assets and thumbnails directories etc but its working great.. and i think it mounts the usb drives.. so i could put the roms there.

Thanks for the heads up!

- PLAYLISTS: Playlist base content directory paths - portable playlists
This could make it a lot easier to use the same playlists on different systems. Hopefully there's also a way to account for forward slashes versus backslashes, double slashes, etc, though this would be a very minor issue with only one line to edit per playlist instead of hundreds.

Well it turns out that this actually doesn't work. Though it shows usb etc. it doesnt actually list any files on it like it does for the SD card.

i noticed an older post on github regarding this here: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/9367

Does anybody know if this should be possible. I am using a 2TB Fat32 drive that works fine with all vWII stuff.

Has anyone gotten achievements to work without massive slowdown? It's not a huge deal if it's not possible on the Wii U, but if there are any settings that can offset the slowdown it would be great to know.

I've tried disabling V-sync, which seemed to help a bit, but what else might help? I don't mind screen-tearing, etc, as long as it's playable with achievements. I'm mainly hoping to use achievements with Mega Drive and NES games, any core.
