Hello Everyone!

Mariko Switch + Sx Core , Sysnand and Emunand on Firmware 10.0.4

How do i update emunand without bricking something?

I can update sysnand the offical way. (after that i COULD recreate emunand, but i dont want to reinstall everything +.+)

When i look up that question i get mixed informations (only people with old switches and atmosphere or some say "use Choidojour" and others "never use Choidojour")

Would be nice if someone could give me a hint :)

Thanks in advance!

Latest SX OS BETA + ChoiDUjourNX ...make sure you know your SD Card's format as this is the first option you have to chose during installation. :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Before you start, back up the SD card.
Why? DO you consider emunand on SD card? Never did that - internal memory only so your statement is invalid ;)

Currently there is no perefect solution as ChoiDUjourNX will brick the device with AutoRcm. Sx can handle this but device still in AutoRcm mode.
I'd propose to update with ChoiDUjourNX and after that restore Boot0. That should fix the AutoRcm.

...there is option to disable AutoRCM both in CoiDujourNX and in SX OS's bootloader. ...unless I'm missing something?

i thought AutoRCM is just something for the old switches?

Thanks for your answers! Sounds like updating sysnand and recreating emunand is the safest method at the moment

ChoiNX brick mariko by creating erista boot0, not related with autoRCM.
Also, latest SX OS and SX CORE fw(1.3) can bypass the brick. You are safe to use ChoiNX on emuNAND.

But do not use ChoiNX on sysNAND. Only using on emuNAND is safe.

But AFAIK you cannot disable autocrm on Mariko units, which means that it will be activated. Therefore if could be a problem to boot the OFW for example with the Genuine Boot feature...

Latest ChoiNX recognize mariko console as ipatched console, so autorcm feature is auto-disabled. But ChoiNX breaks mariko boot0 by making erista boot0, so it's still dangerous to use ChoiNX on mariko sysNAND. As you said, you can't genuine-boot, and you can't boot without the modchip. Anyway, DO NOT USE ChoidujourNX ON MARIKO SYSNAND.

This time i took the long way (Saved Savegames with jksv, transfered them from microsd to pc, deleted emunand, updatet sysnand the offical way , recreatet emunand and restored the saves ^^ had time anyways because i wanted to make my mixed xci/nsp collection a XCI only collection with SAK)

For the next firmware version i will use ChoiNX (on EMUNAND ONLY :) )

Update sysNAND using Nintendo server, update emuNAND using ChoidujourNX, or wait for atmosphere mariko support.
Or do like @MajinChibi just explained: backup your game saves with JKSV, update sysNand, delete emuNand, dump sysNand, copy the backup on your PC, create emuNand (or you can just rename sxos/backup folder into sxos/emunand), reinstall your games/homebrews, restore your game saves.

This is what I call a "clean update" and I did the same to go from 10.0.4 to 10.1.0

Hi HenryMin, You seem to understand inner workings of SYSNAND. I need your help with Sysnand stuck on joycon while SXOS boots and works just fine. Can you PM me? I cant post new thread and I dont want to spam this thread.

Is your sysNAND on latest FW and you're using SX Core/Lite?
If so try Genuine Boot.
If you're using RCM, disable AutoRCM (if you have it) and try booting completely stock, not using payload injector.
Also, what do you mean by stuck on joycon?

SX Core on Mariko. Sysnand on 10.2.0, SX OS on 10.2.0. I created 2 backups when I first installed Core. both Emunand(SXOS on microsd1) and Sysnand got STUCK on joycon logo. After rechecking installation, and trying everything, i remembered 2nd Microsd backup. I inserted it in Mariko and voila SXOS boots fine(from Microsd2). However Genuine boot gets stuck on joycon, SXOS on Microsd1 gets stuck on joycon. No clue how do i fix this
