Like the Arkham games, I expect this will take its cues from the Animated Universes. You shouldn't be worried about influence from the terrible films.

Unfortunately, the first half of the Killing Joke proved that not even the animated projects are safe anymore
Even before this, a lot of the Jay Olivia directed stuff was just ok at best. DC animated stuff that genuinely wows isn't all that frequent anymore.

No way. Did you actually see the movie with a bit of a critical eye?
The plot was a mess along with the standard story and female led cast that was nothing more than a wasted opportunity.
Margot is a great Harley, but it seems to me that the movie tried to push the actress instead of the character.

Really, besides Harley, I can't even remember the other birds of prey.

And Ewan was just the best part of the train wreck. The second, was the hyena.
Also, Harley Quinn was never a Bird of Prey, before this movie - the Birds are a group of superheroines, and the only time a villainness joined, it was Poison Ivy, and her addition made the heroines uncomfortable. When the good girls found out Ivy was using them for her own shady purposes, they promptly kicked her out of the group.

Catwoman's also been part of the group, but she's not exactly a villainness, while Quinn has appeared alongside the team, but never as a member (she, and the rest of the Secret Six, act as foils). Montoya has never been a Bird, either.

The movie couldn't even get the group right.
