So here is my situation:

I bought a moddable Switch, and started the process. The only thing I have done so far is prep my SD card, boot up into the first Hekate menu, and backup my NAND. I have not proceeded into the Home menu of the Switch through CFW yet at all

My original plan was to use this Switch as my modded one, and get a Lite as an unmodded one. However, I have changed my mind and just want to keep this original Switch at stock.

Did I pass the point of no return? Or can I just boot back into stock firmware without any ban worries since I have not yet fully booted into the Switch's Home menu in CFW?

Thanks

Everything outside of the os, that doesn't modify files on the nand is 100% safe, so you could also boot android and linux without any worries.
If you are worried about even a small ban risk, you could also setup a emunand, where no internet connections are setup, and boot into it to experiment with homebrew, without leaving any traces on the sysnand with ofw.
Beside that, like bad361 already said, there is nearly no risk of ban, from just using atmosphere, since they added many things to prevent detection. Many people use it while going online, like myself or even the atmosphere devs themself, and unless you install nsps or xcis of any kind, cheat or mod online, mess with the error history, or do similar things, there is also nearly (a little bit is always left) no risk in using homebrew, custom themes and romhacks.

I myself use cfws online on both my switches since about a month after the first sxos version got released, and I'm still not banned.

I think you havent crossed the boundary yet. Personally I think hacked switch is more valuable and an unpatched one should be hacked because it is rarer. I myself plan to get second hacked one or pure ofw mariko for online! You should buy 2nd one imo for ofw and online only imo like your original plan.
