Homebrew I'm having trouble getting my controllers to be recognized by HIDtoVPAD.

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and when I run HIDtoVPAD and plug the 360 controller in the green light flashes but pressing 'A' does nothing.

I have 2 wireless PS3 DS3 Sixaxis controllers but when I plug them into the Wii U with the USB cord the blinking red lights immediately shut off and it does nothing when I press 'A'

I have a PS4 DS4 controller that I can connect to the Wii U via the network client, but it has bad input lag.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong with the 360/PS3 controllers?

Or how I could fix input lag with PS4 DS4?

This may not be what you want but for me I hate using wired controllers. You could buy this

https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Magic-NS-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B079B5KHWQ

And those Dualshock 3s will work wirelessly with a config I could provide for you. I think the Dualshock 4 should work wireless as well but I've only used Dualshock 3s they work great. Absolutely perfect no lag.

If you aren't interested in that you would need to get Hidtest it's included on the github with Hidtovpad and tell me your VID and PID and I think I can make you a config for those Dualshock 3s.

I've run HID Test with Dual shock 3 plugged in but nothing happens. How else can I find VID and PID?

I dont know it always worked for me. Only idea i have is you could try the hidtovpad network client it lets you use controllers hooked up to pc on Wii u. But it has its own share of issues.

Or you could just take my previous advice and buy one of those mayflash adapers thats the only way i can guarantee it will work.

Hmm, I've used network client for DS4 but didn't like it due to input lag. But I don't have a Dual Shock 3 config file. I looked here but couldn't really make much sense of it. You said you could make one?

I had a few minutes to try and whip something up. There are two here just unzip them and put both of them in wiiu/apps/controller and hopefully just one will work because you only need one to work. If not I got nothing else to try except the adapter, but I think it might work.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll try it tonight

OK it works to some extent. The Wii U recognizes the dualshock 3 but the default position of the control stick is set to the left (see screenshot).

Any ideas?

Also looks like the controller thinks the d-pad is stuck pointing up and the Y (square) button is stuck pushed down.

Did you try it in a game or just on that menu? I really dont know, that setup was the same for mine just with the mayflash adapter + fake ds3s.
