Today I installed an SX Core on my mariko v2.
Apparently all it's OK, buy when I turn on, the SX Core LED blinks blue and never gets green.
If I put the NAND in the original place, the Switch boots with OFW and it works well

UPDATE: The integrated near V2 text was upper the shield, i changed it to bottom and it works

So my switch is working great backups are installed and working fine so my kid is happy.

I would also like to install Android now so that I can use parsec to stream games from my pc for some lazy couch gaming when he goes to bed.

Any pointers/info/tutorials for installing Android on a switch with an sx core? Are there any specific differences I need to look out for as opposed to an unpatched unit?

Thanks.
No need to install Android to do that. Google 'SkyNX'. Install app on your switch, an app on your PC and you're good to go. It even supports GPU acceleration.

I have been patiently waiting for my SX core to arrive from txswitch since 5/24. In May I contacted ModderFokker619 to see how much he would charge for an installaction and he quoted me $40 shipping included. When I finally see that my SX Core is about to arrive I reached out ModderFokker619 to see where I should send my Switch. He informs me that he is now charging:

Paypal Options:
$ 60 friends and family
$ 64 non friends and family
$7 for insurance is optional

Cash in box is also an option

Raised my prices a few times since risk is REALLY high for me. Still cheaper than other guy charging $75 for just install.

No matter how nice his soldering looks, I refuse to support price gouging. So buyer beware if you go with him you are encouraging the same type of behavior that caused people to horde toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The effort is the same, and risk is actually lower because more people are offering the same service, it’s just the demand has cause an increase in greed. Support your local modder if you can, don’t support greed and exploitive business practices. Sorry for the rant but I have been waiting for over six weeks and this just ruined the whole experience for me. I was elated to see it was arriving soon but now I am just disappointed.

First off he’s not price gouging @ModderFokker619 gets 10 switches a day in mail and can hardly keep up with the demand. He’s taking a risk even installing these and the soldering on this IS NOT easy especially for the lite, what you get for the cost of a literal game card with his attention to detail, how much he really cleans the area and takes his time is well worth the money not to mention he sets up SXOS license, dumps your nand, sets up emunand and tinfoil -ARE YOU TRYING TO GET HIM ARRESTED?- for $40-50 which includes return shipping cost and now $60 which is still less lost people charge. Now imagine the work he does DAY IN AND DAY OUT. Just imagine doing that 10-20 times a day everyday, would you not value your service to warrant higher pay?

Absolutely justified and worth every penny.

I’d like to add ive had him mod two of my own consoles and multiple friends, he says SEND ONLY TABLET but people send joycons and case. If you paid priority with insurance he sends it back priority with insurance AND if he BREAKS your console he’ll replace it as he did my lite, what other local modder do you know who goes above and beyond like he does? But when you’re dealing with the volume he does he can’t afford to lose on shipping cost because of your mistake or not listening to directions, IT ALL ADDS UP.

First of all it’s not a Lite.
Second it wasn’t an estimate I have the quote in writing in our conversation. It’s no different than scalpers exploring people and driving the Switch priceS up. According to him the service is worth the $40 he quoted the job in May nothing has changed since then. If the effort of soldering 6 points is worth $40 there is no justification to increase the price you were quoted.

First of all unless he guarantees that price it’s nothing more than a quote as you said, Second of all when I had my Mariko modded he was only going to charge me $30 because I drove to him but I gave him $40 anyway because he deserves it. Demand drives the price up and yes he’s had plenty of demand, he also does way more for you then 6 solder points but if you just want only an “install” take it to someone else. It’s people like you that whine and moan over $20 when you’re getting thousands of value being able to use cfw and homebrew that really blow my mind.

There is a difference between an estimate and a quote. I asked him and he quoted me a price, But I had to wait for it to arrive. Now suddenly what was originally worth $40 in now $70 for the same effort? He saw what people were getting away with charging and did the same, no different than the people who horded toilet paper just to sell at inflated prices. It’s called price gouging, and a contractor should honor the price they quoted. Estimates are different, this was a quote for a service. I am not whining I am just letting people know if they encourage this behavior they only have their self to blame. I can afford to buy games and there isn’t a single one I want that I don’t already have so it’s not about cost, it’s about honor. I wanted a modchip to be able to do more with my Switch. I will find some locally to solder those six points and reapply thermal paste, or I will just sell the modchip because this experience has soured me on the whole idea.

No he isn’t “copying” what others are getting away with people were charging $50-60-75 for installs from the beginning while he charged only $40 I even told him he should raise his prices for everything extra he does and now finally due to demand raised to $50 and then yet again to $60 not to price gouge but because his service is worth what he’s asking for it and he simply cannot keep up with the demand. Again a quote is not a guarantee however if you’d asked him civilly I’m sure he would’ve honored the price he did quote you at as he only charged $50 for my friends SX CORE while he had just raised the price to $60. But instead you come and try to spread slander about his business practices that you have no idea about.

I was speaking to him, and when I brought it up he just stopped responding.

A quote (or quotation) is an exact price for the job being offered. As such it is fixed and CANNOT be changed once it has been accepted by the customer (unless the customer changes the amount/type of work required or you discover something completely outside of the scope of what was agreed).”

https://www.yourtradebase.com/blog/estimates-vs-quotes/

I stopped responding cause you said no.

I'm actually gonna raise prices again to match competition / my work. My prices have nothing to do with what you state and you are 100% wrong! If that was the case I would be selling those $700 switches .:whip:

I have every right to set my price to whatever I deem fit for the work of my value.

I would hate to see you at walmart when they change a price on something.

I waited for you to respond and when you didn’t, I told you I wouldn’t require your services. I just want people to know that’s how you do business.

Wow you waited 7 minutes while I was soldering another members Switch. You said no and still complaining I didn't reply fast enough to it... Not sure what to say about that.

Yeah please let everyone know my new prices and Thank You!

30 years doing this guys and I've always changed my prices around to reflect my work etc

If you don't like the price you can simply move along. There's no need to be Super Negative!

Side Note: About 20 in today and 11 out - Tracking #'s have been sent out and Thank You GBATEMP for the TRUST

I Truly Appreciate ALL OF YOU!

I have yet to meet a DEV that Solders.

Don’t worry about me I just bought a PS4 Pro so I will be more than content modding that to my heart’s content. There is nothing I want to play on the switch I don’t already have. I just have useless modchip now.

6 weeks is a long time. If you had actually paid the money in advance or thats something different. Or if it only took like a week. But you cant ask people about the price and then come around ages later talking about price gouging.
Price gouging means much higher than is reasonable or fair. Usual rate for any kind of technical work in my country is around 100$/hour, additional expenses not included.
I dont know how fast he is, but unpacking, opening the console, cleaning, soldering, closing console, testing and nand backup, repackaging and delivering surely takes more than 5 minutes. A half hour estimate shouldnt be too far off, so its like 30$/hour - and that without any shady business practices like pretending the console was already damaged when something goes wrong (many do that btw) - its a steal - relatively speaking

I just burnt off one of the caps on my switch. Does anyone know someone who can replace it? Someone who could install the modchip for me too would be a plus.

Capacitor is 0201 0.1uf 10v if its on the tegra, it's very very very tiny and not easy to do, PM @ModderFokker619 he can replace it and install the chip for you.
