You're right - I'm not using a exefs_patch - but still..It's running on 60fps when I look to the sky or a simple wall.
But the dynamic resolution scaling seems broken. It's on a permanent fixed resolution.

When the exefs_patch is the fix for this - How do I make one ? :-D
Here it is.
Make sure to use max OC on everything or at least use the ones from DOOM.

Sorry, but this is awful. In cutscenes game goes slow-mo and in gameplay too. Game cant reach 60fps cause resolution is too high. And what do a exefs_patch? I dont see any differenece. Also "rs_raiseMilliseconds" and "rs_dropMilliseconds" doesnt work in Switch version.
Here is my variant of config for 60 fps:

Weird the guy who tested it for me said it was working well.

Doesn't seem to work for me...

The config gets loaded and everything, but the game runs at a locked 30 FPS in slow-motion.

Which version if atmosphere are you using?
what are the dangers of overclocking? should I put my switch on a "fan dock"
Well overclocking to max OC could heat up the system but the internal fan does its job well so no worries but you should always make sure that you are charging the system while overclocking to keep the battery safe or just dock the system.

Latest Kosmos.
Should be Atmosphere 0.10.2.

You copied the contents directory?

Yes, the custom config gets loaded, I also enabled the FPS counter.
Resolution, AA and AO are also just like in the config, but the game runs at 30 fps and 50% speed.

EDIT: Actually, I can't seem to enable AA, if I set "r_antialiasing 1" it's still disabled.

To restore the og antialiasing, set it to 6. Personally i recommend setting it to 3 as it does clean the edges really well and does result in a better performance and resolution overall as its not demanding like the og one.
Also make sure your game is updated and that you copied the exefs_patches folder.
Also setting AA to 1 is just FXAA which sucks at cleaning edges imo.

I updated to 1.2 and it works now :)

Though I think I'll use my own 30fps config - 256x144 is a bit too low for me heh

Did some little tweaks to the mod, mainly fixing speed issues when framerate dips. Also instead of disabling AA it was changed to TAA(1TX) which is quite close the og AA but not as demanding. For the last weeks ive been trying to find a way to fix the slowdowns that are CPU related but sadly i havent been able to find a good solution for it.
I also tried Wolfenstein 2 to see if it will be any better than DOOM but it seems its much worse due to being much more demanding for both CPU and GPU.

To install it copy the 0100416004C00000 folder to the contents folder.
Max resolution is 1080p and Min resolution is 540p.

Code:
handheld_charging_cpu=1785
handheld_charging_official_gpu=921
handheld_charging_mem=1600
docked_cpu=1785
docked_gpu=921

Also AntiAliasing was changed to SMAA.
the game look very nice with this but seem the AA doesn't work. I tested antialiasing values from 0 to 3 and took screenshots and all are the same
edit: it worked after I removing r_antialiasing line, load the game then re-added it

No r_mode determines resolution, 0 is for 720p and 1 is for 1080p. After that you multiply the resolution with the one you choosed for dynamic res f.e. rs_minimumResolutionScaleX_handled 0.5 with r_mode set to 1 means that the lowest resolution handheld mode can reach is 1080p×0.5 so 540p.
These lines should disable dynamic resolution in docked mode? (not interested in handheld) on the file default_sp.cfg
Code:
r_mode 0
rs_minimumResolutionScaleX_docked 1
rs_minimumResolutionScaleY_docked 1
rs_maximumResolutionScaleX_docked 1
rs_maximumResolutionScaleY_docked 1
Basically what I want is keep the game in 720p all the time.

Hello and thank you all for all the work on DOOM 2016 performance.

I can't post links, aghh, but I saw a good video on extreme DOOM 2016 performance tweaks from this guy, LowSpecGamer. In it he shows some interesting console commands that work on the switch when put into default_sp.cfg. They are pretty effective at boosting framerate but also can really degrade graphics. Mess around and see what you prefer. Here are some useful ones or just google the video, maybe you already know these but hope its helpful. All credit goes to LowSpecGamer and DigitalFoundry:

Disable Shadows:
r_skipShadows 1

Disable all dynamic Lighting, makes some parts of the game dark:
r_skipLights 1

Reduce Set piece/Level/Decal Detail:
r_skipDecals 1

Totally remove particle effects like animated orbs on top of gore nests, explosions become invisible:
r_skipParticles 1

The higher the number, the closer DOOM will load low detail textures. Try 15 for extreme.
vt_lodbias 12

In the video, he also explains exactly what drop and raise milliseconds etc do in terms of dynamic resolution scaling and target framerate, something that certainly confused me before. Definitely check that out if you want to understand dynamic res, it's a bit long to summarize here but the video is called:

Doom 2016 ultra low graphics for low end PCs (Intel HD/UHD 520/620/630)
