Nintendo Switch firmware version 10.1.0 available to download

YnigQpN.png

If there's one thing you can count on in this world, it's the stability updates for your Nintendo consoles. A new Nintendo Switch firmware update has just gone live, bringing the system to software version 10.1.0. As usual, this minor update only adds "general system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience". The new firmware doesn't seem to change much in terms of exploits, either--SciresM says that Trustzone/Bootloader weren't affected, and neither was the Kernel changed. Regardless, a new version of Atmosphere will be dropping later this week.

i bet this is when they impliment SX Core/Lite detection methods (pretty easy to do since it injects a custom bootrom they just need to checksum verify the bootrom every boot) cant wait for the bans to pour in :rofl2:

It really is mind boggling how Nintendo hasn't sold older games on this platform, especially after doing it on 3DS / Wii / Wii U.

Bringing GameCube back from the grave would be an instant financial hit

GoldLeaf stopped work, some patches will be necessary.

This is not true. Just used Goldleaf a second ago and installed a dozens of games. Every game works perfectly. You need the new sigpatches for it to work as intended on Atmosphere.

I did a factory reset, because the error reports are so annoying. Every time I see them, I start to panic. It is irrational, I know. However, I cannot help it. The last time I did a factory reset was on FW 7.0.0. Why does the Switch create a error report for every little thing? Every time I try to connect to my network, the Switch tells me that it cannot find my router. Network-wise the Switch is a piece of shit. Really. And then a new error report was created, I hate it! Sorry for rambling, I had a nasty day.

Atmosphere works great, no problems so far. Every homebrew works. I found a new function, you can now change the sensitivity of the touchscreen in the settings.

Eternal Darkness please.

Glad I stockpiled on the heavy hitter GC games in 2018 and part of early 2019 before they seemingly skyrocketed?

Eternal Darkness is one in the pile I plan to get to soon. Got my GC wired up over s-video to my (lower end) Sony PVM as well. Been using it for GBPlayer mostly, but the occasional GC title as well. And enjoying wired controller again (using a smash GC controller that was new in box) for vibration and no lag even though Wavebirds aren't too bad and I had a good run with those on my WiiU with Nintendont / HDTV. blah blah blah.

There's a copy of Eternal Darkness on eBay right now for $11 shipped or best offer. Case, manual, disc included. If anyone is interested in it. Could probably flip it for a decent profit. Edit: Never mind. I completely spaced that it's not a buy it now. LOL! My bad.

Thats pretty nuts whoever doesn't have it should get on it.

I dont buy games to flip, even for easy profit. I just sell stuff I dont play or see value in collecting anymore which is to say very little, and if it commands a profit, great. Not worth dealing with all the low ballers in general on OfferUp, etc.

You said, Goldleaf needs "patches", and that is not true. Both in one sentence. Your post was not very clear, so I may have misunderstood. I thought you were referring to Goldleaf. Also, I never said you lied.

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
