Nintendo Switch firmware version 10.1.0 available to download

If there's one thing you can count on in this world, it's the stability updates for your Nintendo consoles. A new Nintendo Switch firmware update has just gone live, bringing the system to software version 10.1.0. As usual, this minor update only adds "general system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience". The new firmware doesn't seem to change much in terms of exploits, either--SciresM says that Trustzone/Bootloader weren't affected, and neither was the Kernel changed. Regardless, a new version of Atmosphere will be dropping later this week.

While doing these updates, it wouldn't be impossible ( illegal) that N is retrieving (pre-collected data) about the specifics of how the systems been used, the number of re-boots, failed attempts, memory locations accessed, games referenced, etc...

I realize none of us likes to feel 'spied on' but if [our] personal data is left out, pretty sure it is acceptable. To what ends? Well just for one guess I'd say tracking trends of use and tracking its 'stability'? think a Key logger lite,

food for thought...
I'll collect the payment later...

P.S. I wish they would start making autos, I could use an automaker who keeps maintaining their vehicles long after-sale, as N does their console.

I wouldn't tell people it's safe to use, doing a fresh install with this update and current atmosphere with patches, only my original Cartridge dumps will load, anything that has DLC or was dumped from e-shop is forcing an online check even if you have no connection, or are in airplane mode, they just flat out refuse to open unless you connect online (haha nice try fuck that) to verify.

NXTheme installer is also busted and installed themes will crash atmosphere unless removed. It's possible if you had older data mixed in things are working, but a clean install right now with 10.1.0 is anything but fully functional.

Edit: It seems new sig patches have been uploaded. Adding the new patches alone didn't work, I had to then uninstall and reinstall the problem games with dlc/from eshop in order to function again.

Themes will be up when the installer gets an update according to their post.

how many things do stability updates even change? ive never noticed any differences from stability updates.
Usually the main goal is bug fixes - either the kind normal users might run into, even if it's rare, or the kind hackers might exploit. Since this patch didn't seem to break any of the CFW stuff, it's probably the former.
