Hi all,

I'm working on updating my FFX save editor, FFXED, to work with PS Vita. This editor has been around for about a decade and I just started updating it again.

Download link:
https://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=27353

You can find the main thread for FFXED here, which contains supplementary material and more info about how to use the editor:
https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-FFXED-Final-Fantasy-X-Save-Editor

I don't actually own FFX or a PS Vita so hopefully some of you can test it out and let me know what errors you encounter.

Troubleshooting:
- If FFXED.jar doesn't start up when you double-click it, first make sure you have the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment installed on your machine.
- If you have installed Java and FFXED's JAR file is not associated with Java and some other program runs when you double-click it, run Jarfix.

I use FF-Hexed to import/export the .psu file to use it with your editor. It would be nice if the editor supports Vita saves with your upcoming updates, as that would make the process even easier now.

I can help test things as I have various saves at various points, and I have used your editor for many things over the years (I play FFX a lot since it was released... kek).

Yes, the intention is for FFXED to directly support Vita saves without FF-Hexed or other tools. I have tested it and it is at least able to read Vita saves. Not quite sure yet if it writes them properly. Try it and see if it works!

Tried one of the coordinates I sometimes use, but didn't work after a few tries.
Code:
Bevelle - Passage of Cleansing
Room Number - 305
Spawn Point - 2
Storyline Progress - 2130

As for everything else, it works perfectly. I will still try jumping around with the coordinates which I think can be one of the features that can break the game if you do certain things, though this is not really a big issue as you can just make a save at that location and play. >:3

Do the values that FFXED is reading from the save file look correct for the game coordinates? Assuming that the location of that data in the file didn't change, it could just be an issue with those coordinates no longer being valid for whatever reason.

Can you try using different coordinates? Especially if you have multiple Vita save files, try getting the coordinates from one and putting them into the other and see if the game loads with the expected result.

It seems the issue was an outlier, probably limited to that particular save.

I don't know how helpful this is, but I've been using 7 different saves for the NA version and 5 saves from the JP version and I've had no issues until now. I can confirm that changing coordinates works, and there doesn't seem to be any issue while changing files for different version of the game (Vita, PS3, PS4 (after using the Cross-Save function only), and PC).

I'd say that FFXED is the ultimate tool for FFX now, if it wasn't already (at least for me it was).

Hi, thanks for the sharing the editor. I tried using the editor, problem is when i copy the edited savegame back into the vita, the game couldn't detect the savegame but I can reopen the edited savegame in the editor. Not sure what I did wrong.

Sent you a PM, try emailing me some save files and I can try and investigate what's wrong.

Maybe you didnt fix checksum?

@fuzzymillipede would it be feasible to incorporate checksum fixer with this?

Yeah this works
https://gbatemp.net/threads/any-sort-of-ffx-save-editor.461031/#post-7114140

I was just hoping @fuzzymillipede adds it to his save editor. We dont need a separate tool to do that.

Edit: That linked thread also has another program that fixes checksums by @niatrinh .. So take your pick

It worked!

Thanks so much, you saved the day.

On a different note, one thing that's odd is that the save editor does not offer the option for the "psychic" job...very odd. Guess the HD version job came out after that the editor.

Glad it worked.
That job was added in the international version. It wasn’t there in the original. Also you will experience bugs with X-2 save editor. Unlike this save editors, the X-2 isn’t really great. So make sure you make copies and recheck everything you do on the PC and then recheck them all on the vita or whatever console you are playing on.

one bug I remember is that some jobs will reset to zero if you chance it’s current number to anything.
