I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post about the recent TwilightMenu update 15.3.0, but i'm having trouble now with my DSI. After updating and loading into hiyaCFW, the TwilightMenu icon no longer exist. I turned off my dsi and turned it on as I hold the A button to launch Unlaunch Menu and tried to launch via the TwilightMenu and the menu seems alot different now, but when I try to launch the ds game, it loads and freezes afterwards at 90%.

Doesn't seem that you updated nds-bootstrap.
Follow the update instructions here.

I think I know the problem. When I downloaded the v15.3.0, after unzipping, it produces over 1700+ problems when unzipping them. Maybe that was the reason why it did not function properly. I did update perfectly with 15.0.0

Try removing twilight menu completely and reinstalling it.
I regret, no dice. Total clean install (uninstalled the .cias in FBI and reinstalled the latest ones), freshly formatted SD card (64gb FAT32, cluster size 32kb), no cheats file anywhere on the card, clean ROM dump (corresponding AP .ips in apfix folder by default). "Stress tested" in the same place as my last freeze, going between Goldenrod and the route to the north. This time the freeze was not during a scene transition, it froze mid-walking frame on Route 35 (still playing music).

How strange.. can you check the ROM with this tool https://gbatemp.net/threads/ap-patch-preservation.477536/. Check the crc32 of the ROM and try to ap patch it with the tool. Honestly these are some weird issues that a lot of people are having and no one can explain why it's happening.

Actually, the freezing in Pokemon Gen 4 isn't related to AP.
Such bugs could also happen on the actual carts.

It's an odd one for sure. I dumped a fresh copy of the ROM from the cart (applied the AP using the tool as suggested by @Draexelion ) and haven't had a freeze in the last 3 hours. Before I couldn't get past 1 hour at best, and could get a crash within 15 mins with a "stress test", all this despite using a ROM I'd dumped myself in the same way as I did today.

The strangest observation is that yesterday I wasn't getting the "jingle" when an evolution finished (BAH BAH BAH, BADADADAH-BADAHHH). Today on the fresh ROM the jingle is playing. WTF.

This is just a heads up, and thanks Rob for all your work. I'm back to chime in regarding Dragon Quest V (Japan) once again. Previously I posted about the game crashing when rotating the camera with L or R. I was running nds-bootstrap on a 3DS and by changing the per-game setting to DSi mode (forced), the issue was resolved.

Since then I have acquired a real DSi and despite trying all combinations of options I can as well as verifying my dump was proper, the rotating crash still occurs. Heap shrink on or off, etc. In summary, Dragon Quest V (Japan) seems to be unplayable on on the DSi under TM++ v15.3.0.

One other note, on either system, the game has an odd glitch when it first loads the title screen: some subtle glitchy horizontal lines appear on the title image and then abruptly resets to the opening credits and back to the title screen a second time with glitchy lines still appearing but where you can proceed to the save file select screen and start the game. After this, everything seems to be normal, but I have not tested much beyond that on the 3DS yet since working around the issue there.

Its weird that you are having issues with the Japanese version of DQV as I have played and finished the American version from start to finish with zero issues other than the glitchy title screen. No crashes once I actually started the game.

I thought it was strange too, however the compatibility list shows different regions have different issues and DQV Japan presently has no entry.

I finally got around to testing the USA version and as expected it runs just fine with no crashing when rotating the screen however with that same title screen glitch.

Yeah it works great but it's the obvious Ds factor you loose from it it's not like playing atari games on atari because Nintendo actually use to give a reason to buy their hardware

I used a vertical touch 22" monitor for playing some 3DS games through Citra.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Can't be that far off from it not like ds requires super hardware
  • HiradeGirl @ HiradeGirl:
@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen.

    Use a TV
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Citra allows it already?
