you can download updates for installed nsp games and install them just like the games you dont need another switch to get updates from

I mean, it's an interesting question and something I would like to know but only as a mere curiosity, I don't see why would you like to update a game that way instead of just donwloading the update along with the game.

Ah, sorry. You should have started there.
Well, XCI works for SX OS, you wanna avoid it if you are using Atmos. In fact, you should avoid SX OS as well.

You may find the SWITCH NOOB PARADISE thread pretty useful.

I have been able to update my backups on my Switch with a Switch Lite. Nothing wrong has ever happened to me(at least for now).

But it's been a very long time and I have yet not been banned.

Use awoo and NS USB loader it has option to allow xci in "tin foil" mode.

you cant. you need to convert it, but the update needs to match the tittle ID.
He's asking how to install xci files in atmosphere, and you can. You can't run them like you would on SXOS, but you can install them just like you install any nsp.

For the OP : As the guy above me said, you just have to run an installer that can install xci files. Iirc Goldleaf can't, but others can, like awoo installer (the one I use, the easiest to use imo) or tinfoil and it will install just like any normal nsp would. Tho when you do install "super" XCI like yours (xci files that contain the game + updates + dlc in one file), the installer will seem to install many nsps but it's totally normal, just wait for it to finish everything and you'll be good
