suddenly, for some reason, I can't connect to 5GHz router ssid. I can 2.4GHz. I don't know if it's a router setting or if it's the shield. I read about people encountering a bug that caused this to happen on the latest version of the software. has this happened to anyone else on here?

Does not connect? Can you see the SSID, enter the right password and nothing happens? A quick search showed that the shield tv doesn't support 5 GHz on channels above 50, so a solution is to change your router's to power channels like 36 to 48. Which shield version is it? Can you be more specific when you say can't connect?

I have both 2015 and 2019 shields and my 2015 shield just easily connected to my 5ghz at channel 36. Then I changed the channel to 52 and it took a minute but reconnected and still worked on channel 52.

Could it be you have a old firmware version with a bug? Maybe the bug is router specific (I use a dir-835 with openwrt)? Can you try changing the channel to see if it helps? It definitely works for me although I can't trust wifi, even at 5ghz to stream all the high quality content I want.

yeah, I changed the channel. I think the channel was either 30 or 40. it just suddenly started happening. it can detect the ssid, but it says, "can't find it" after entering the password. I read about this being a common problem, so I don't know if I've encountered a bug that may or may not correct itself. I leave the shield unplugged whenever I'm not using it if that has any effect. my router is a tp-link forgot model number.

it just connected when I tried it. maybe there was a glitch with the router or the shield.
