So the new Tinfoil has Incognito built right in. I used it on my new Emunand to install Incognito, but when I looked in the SD card to delete prodinfo.bin it wasn't there. The thing is, when wiping my serial number, it asked for a password. This password is needed to restore the prodinfo.bin, which tells me it could be encrypted. Anyway, I just want to make sure it's safe. I know it should be fine for protecting from a ban, but will it protect me from Homebrew applications that record such data? Should I run Incognito RCM to permanently delete it just in case? I already have a prodinfo.bin backed up on my pc anyway, plus this Emunand has NSPs so it will never touch Nintendo Servers, I have a clean Sysnand for that. I just don't want my prodinfo.bin stolen so I don't get my Sysnand banned. Thanks!

If you're this paranoid, you should not be running CFW in my opinion.

It asks for a password because it stores the encrypted backup in your nand so you can’t lose it.

nothing can read the backup without your password.

Well since this thread is hot, I will ask. It is safe to update FW with prodinfo erased? Has it ever happened that Nintendo changes the prodinfo with an update? So Do I need to make a backup every time I Update FW?

dump either your encrypted prodinfo with bis keys, or just decrypted prodinfo, and I will make a quick script for extracitng your backed up cal0 providing you remember the password you used for encrypting it.
