So I have a switch with the sx core installed. How much would you personally pay for a complete switch (dock, power cable, hdmi, joycons, joycons straps, and the switch itself) that has the mod chip? It’s a refurbished switch from GameStop, but is in very great condition. Just looking for a good price point to start selling at if I even do sell it.

Probably want to add banned or unbanned to that one.
Standard colours?

Anyway that is always a fun one.

On the one hand moddable and modded switches are not so hard to come by, and new mods appear to be arriving as well and are not so very hard to install (some might even be more or less softmod or easy external trigger) or obtain when they do appear.
Switch games are variously few and far between and not so very expensive or hard to come by. Most are unlikely to be swayed by further incentives either.

If you are in the US then the market is similarly fairly saturated (go somewhere it is not officially sold and that changes things, though at the same time anything in those markets is usually modded). It is harder to flog such things as modded on ebay and the like so you are limited to places like this, facebook groups and whatever the free selling platform is around you.

To that end if it is clean somewhere between typical second hand price for that and full retail, maybe a bit more if someone really wants one and you do it locally (the option to rock up with some cash, see it working and wander home all in one evening rather than mess around does appeal to many) or with whatever assurances being on a site like this offers. It does add value in the right circumstances but it is not a massive value add under most normal scenarios -- if you find yourself in a cheesy film scenario wherein your modded switch is the only thing that can save the day/family/company then I guess go for it.

Doesn't mean someone would pay $650 for it, saw one sold for 325 with the tablet only, so the price vary depends on how fast the person wants to sell it. I would say $500+ would be a good price to asks, units that was modded with trinket m0 in the past with Joycon sold for like $450.

I personally paid $250 for both of my un patched switches but I have sold modded units for $400 with dualboot so I guess due to inflation $500 is the basic asking price for a modded console. If it is banned ofc the price will drop. The problem is very few people are going to buy a system for that much money considerng that modded systems cant be played online also they still have to buy games.

If you really want to get rid of it just sell it for $350 if you trying to make a profit sell it for $500 but expect to wait a bit for a serious buyer

Seems I was wrong. I had no idea people were paying such a premium for what are relatively common devices. Most things I saw around here and on other places reflected that but I guess not, or at least I underestimated the "I want it all, I want it now" crowd.

You need to filter for "sold items" only. Someone desperate enough might pay that much but that is not a reasonable price for a modded system.

In my opinion anything above $350 is scalping. It's a used console after all, charging a lot more than a brand new console + the cost of the modchip is kinda bullshit. $100 for the chip + install is fair but anything more is just preying on those dumb or desperate enough. Doesn't mean people won't pay more, but it would be immoral.

Yes I'm talking about the general public before the crisis a modded switch averaged between $300-$350 now I see people trying to sell them for $500+ and those things sit right there lol During the crisis people are trying to sell used switches for $350/ new switches for $400 , modded switches for $500+

I personally paid $250 a piece for both of my unpatched units but I can atleast say with mines the first one came with a 400gb memory card and a case and the 2nd one came with a 128gb memory card and was in pristine condition but nowadays people are trying to upsell a switch that isn't even worth the launch price.

IMO it is better just to buy unpatched because by the time like you said you buy the modchip and then you pay a guy to install it for you (not including shipping) you would be better off buying unpatched. Stuff like that is great to buy once the switch is EOL and that is when all prices go down. That is what I'm planning of doing for my atomic purple switch lite project. wait for all the prices to go down to get the console and the mod+ installation done for only $200.

Indeed true, if you are specifically seeking out a modded console there is not much reason to go with a patched one. Unless the improved battery life of the red box Switch is important to you, I guess that would be a good reason. I'm hoping patched Switches eventually get a softmod, then I might pick up a tablet only red box Switch for on the go use, and I could keep the old one in the dock at home.

I payed £400 for mine. Was all set up and ready to go. Seller even helped me setup for a bigger SD card after I got the switch and helped me with any problems I had.
