Provide more detail, current firmware? did you ran an update blocker, is your blu-ray broken?

4.74

Blu Ray broken. Dont even have the cables connected (does that matter?)

I am able to successfully run update blocker though the guide tells you to enable it before running the HB updater

I have the file on the root of a Fat32 formatted USB drive. I have tried multiple 5.05 update files and multiple USB drives but I always get update file corrupted whenever I run the HomeBrew updater solution

I am able to successfully use the browser, 4.74 HEN, and the JKpatch and i feel like I am so close to getting this damn thing to update but it just wont

The only thing I think i might try next is a different HDD. Its possible this HDD isnt in the best shape and may be affecting my ability to do this but Im not sure

Keep trying various combinations with BDr - I swear what I had already tried ended up working. HDD shouldnt matter as long as functional. Try power to the drive and no data cable perhaps.

@DrROBschiz Have you tried deleting everthing that is inside the 'update' folder on the PS4 via FTP?

also:
Format your USB as exFAT using the PS4. (Go to 'Settings' > 'Devices' > 'USB Storage Devices' > *YOUR USB DRIVE* > Press the 'Options' button > 'Format as exFAT')

Place the PS4UPDATE.PUP on the root of your USB drive and make sure it is all uppercase!

Check the md5 of the PS4UPDATE.PUP file (http://onlinemd5.com) It should be F86D4F9D2C049547BD61F942151FFB55.

Hello i have problem after install this update.

I followed absolutely all the steps and everything went as it should without any problems, of course the update ended and the console remained working for about 10 minutes without a picture with a white line, after that I turned it off thinking it was a lag and since then I turn it on constantly my blue line flashes. Does anyone have a similar problem and does he know how to solve it?

My PS4 1100 series.

@Aki92

Can you get into safe mode? If so try reinstall, or worst case initialize, from there.

Also try: turn off the console, unplug from the mains for at least a minute or two, hold power button for a few seconds to discharge.

if you see a white light on boot: fixed.

if not try format the hdd in a PC, then reinsert and try firmware installation process again.

EDIT: if you update your console using magic pkg from 4.xx to 5.05 DO NOT attempt these steps, you need to have had a cloned backup of you HDD to recover.

I have already done the update, everything went normally and payload and pkg there were no interferences, the console was updated until the end and after that the white line remained lit for about 10 minutes, and there was nothing on the screen. And I turned it off thinking it was some kind of lag, after that I turned it on right away and since then I have a blue line and it won't give me a picture. Unfortunately I did not clone my hdd before the procedure ... I can't enter SAFE MODE when I hold the power button the console turns on and I keep holding the button it goes off after 10-15sec there is no beep for safe mode. Do you have a solution?

So you did up date from 4.xx to 5.05?

Unfortunately you’re probably screwed, unless someone else knows better than me about this.

I tried, but it absolutely won't go into recovery mode when I hold the safe mode button, it just shuts off after about 15 seconds.

What's more, I disconnected the cable from the console and everything and I tried to hold it for 2 hours without voltage and to press the turn on button several times to be totally without electricity and behave identically.

I even tried another hdd and disconnected the bd drive and electricity and data cable from it and still the same.

Why you took apart the blu ray drive?

I did this after several attempts to turn it on and an attempt to enter safe mode, I had no idea what to do next.
