Hey there, thanks for the emulator. Runs Platinum waaay better than Desmume. However, I’m unable to save. Or read saves, it seems. The save file is created but it’s not read the next time I load the rom. I downloaded the emulator through the hb App Store. Please help! Thanks in advance

don't use the one from the hb appstore it's outdated. Try the one linked in my signature.

Hey, I started using and was really happy that the emulator runs Pokemon Diamond in a really good speed after updating the previous version to the one you use in your signature.

My problem is that often the rom crashes (Pokemon Diamond) or that I get a black screen freeze, especially after pokemon fights.

Other roms (Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver) don't even start and I have to reboot my switch switch to rcm.

Can somebody help me with those problems?

do you use something else than Atmosphere title replacement for launching the hbmenu?

I am not that deep into homebrew and modding. What do you mean with this?

I used the latest atmosphere version from sdsetup and injected the fuse primary payload.

Usually I was using hekate 5.30 but after updating atmosphere today I use the primary payload.

I always start homebrews by holding the R button.

if you hold the R button while starting something else than the album you're doing it right.

It could also be your BIOS and firmware files. Try finding different ones and look if it makes a difference.

Mmmh, it got a little better with different bios files. But still it keeps getting freeze screens. Especially after pokemon fights.

With an older version it was much more laggy but it didn't freeze or at least not that often. Could you explain to me what the branch and literating optimisations do exactly?

I already tried disabling them and changed the overclocking settings. But it keeps getting freeze screens.

That's strange. Which version did you use previously? Literal and branch optimisations lead if enabled to faster JIT code, though atleast literal optimisations has in the latest released version a few compability issues (though not with Pokemon), so they can be disabled to test that.

Can you give me a photo of the atmosphere crash screen?

Thanks. I have uploaded a photo of the crash crash. I can play 5 minutes at maximum before the next crash. But like I said, I think it is more a problem with my switch than with melonDS I think.

EDIT: I was trying melonds with the nsp forwarder. Even retroarch (that always crashed right at the start) with a nsp forwarder. Yet it seems to work better. So it seems that there is a problem with the RAM I think when starting out of the albums.

Played for 15 minutes now without freezes, hope it keeps going :)

did I understand that correctly, you're using an NSP forwarder now? Don't do that, they aren't supported and have a bunch of issues. If you have problems with different homebrews then maybe try reinstalling atmosphere.

Yes I use a nsp forwarder that was somewhere linked in this thread right here.

I already reformatted my sd card and installed atmosphere again. Because the problem still appeared I tried the forwarder and now everything works fine.

On Pokemon diamond I had no issues in the last 7-8 playing hours.

I forgot one thing, which filesystem do you use for your SD card, FAT or exFAT?

sure you you do all the things already named (you use title override on a game to launch the hbmenu, not the album, SD card formatted as FAT and Atmosphere)?

Thanks for your response. I gonna give you more information :
- Micro SD card is formated with FAT32
- Current firmware : 10.0.4 , ATM : 0.13.0
First, I press R on some games, then I press L + album to get on the HBMenu, after that i launch MelonDS and load ROM

Before updating new firmware( old fw : 9.0.1, atm 0.9.4) , everything was smooth. I had no issue when playing Pokemon HG & SS
