Have you noticed any negative impact on the battery life since you have the SX core installed?
I haven't noticed any different battery during my past weeks of SX modchip ( I rarely play handheld past 3 hrs lol ).

However the boot on modchip ( sometime Fail ).
- Sometime I need to re-plug the my SD card in few time to make it recognize the boot.dat.
- Sometime It's just stuck at SX logo ( just force shutdown and reboot then it's boot just fine ).
- Restart option and holding volume + in CFW ( won't restart and boot to SX bootloader ), weird lol, my friend V1 patched got his switch modchip today reboot to SX bootloader just fine.

- Don't use ChoiDujourNX on your mariko devices for now ( it may brick your console ).

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! that's good to know that it looks like the mod chip doesn't affect negatively on the battery life.

Regarding you issues with the SD card, might it help formatting the SD card or change the format (FAT32 or Exfat)??

@leons09 I want to have modchip but I still cant get in my country meanwhile I am trying to get info as much as possible about sx modchip, do you have youtube channel where you can share things you know with people because I cant see any person putting videos about modchip for new switches I wonder about installing playing games (xci or nsp), homebrews that work which OS's can be run eg: android lakka, ubuntu. can you share a little bit of those if you have knowledge

You shouldn't use exfat.
As people should not abuse drinks, smoke cigs, use hardcore drugs, abuse meds, but they do it anyways and I'm sure they're all aware of the risks. I'm pretty sure this user knows what comes with using exfat for homebrew in the switch, there's info all over the internet about this, but if he wan't to keep using that's more power to him, took me a corrupted SD to change.

There are few video on internet ( Modchip SX ). I read from maxconsole website " If you use ChoiDojournx to update your switch, it will lead to brick" , I have read from few forums said you can't boot to other payload ? I haven't try it yet and don't want to also lol.

For XCI and NSP , I can confirmed that it worked as it should be.
I only use few homebrew " PFBA, Retroarch, Nxthemes " . Those are all i need and it's work great.

I also use SX Core on my Switch V2 and had none issues you described: Maybe you have bad modchip or bad solder?

I was wondering if I should get a new console and get it modded. However it's for my son so popped into eBay and got him a banned unpatched for a decent price. Will meet our needs and keep him (very) happy. May grab a new console for myself however in the future and get it modded.

I'm not sure if it was bad solder or bad modchip since I asked the local shop to do it for me.
but it is rarely happen. it's only happened once or twice if I remove the SD card and put it back.

I noticed that if I removed SD card so early before I turned off the switch, the next power on will ask for boot.dat even with SD card in.
I just let force shutdown ( power with volume + ) and let it rest abit, and reboot ( it seem to always work that way for me lol ).

It's hard to keep track what work and what is not. I simply come a cross those article, while I'm search for SX core problem at their forums and peoples here.

Here is the source from maxconsle :

I don't mind getting a banned switch if it was a good deal lol.

It's up to you if you want to get a V1 patched or v2 switch then get it to modchip. Or just wait for another softmod for it in future..

IMO It is probably cheaper getting a unpatched unit. The reason why 9/10 times yes a modchip do exist but then you have to buy the chip and then a personal to install it so you are looking at $100 just on the service. Worse case senario you spend $10 on a RCM Loader or $5 on a jig

I never got the hype of the new V2 units very few people is going to play handheld for more than 5 hours straight.

I'm chicken about maxing overclock on V1, between docked heat and handheld battery damage. I'm sure its way less hassle to not deal with a modchip but turning everything all the way up with no worries does appeal.

That said not clear that you can even run sys-clk on mariko right now?

To be honest with you I never overclocked anyrthing on my switch (except for retroarch) all my regular switch games I play them via stock mode so I would't know... I don't really know about the mariko units and the compatibility between apps it just seems like a hastle for me to buy a modchip and then pay a guy to do it.. I rather wait for EOL when all the prices drop for everything

well being able to get 1.7x play time on single charge something very important for me and buying nintendo product while it is trending is better because their console hardware are really shit, when EOL of their console is announced their games would be 5 years behind of gen at that time and I am sure till EOL we would be able to play most of their exclusives on mid range PC with emulator anyways so I think a person who doesnt have switch and want handled console should buy this year and prefer mariko rather than old ones because you cant even play zelda more than 2 hours if you have 2 y.o. switch This year is perfect year for switch IMO for devs to create as many chips as possible and provide support for homebrews, cfw update, different CFWs etc. Also a lot of games cant handle 30fps eg: Ark so I think at some point overclock would be necessary to play a lot of games because even new 3ds couldnt handle some of 1VS1 pokemon battles in 3d at solid FPS without overclock back in the day
