Hacking Sony's ban behaviour

Which one should I pick or should I take other precautions? I'll consider buying a PS3 slim as a secondary console for my PSN games.

Simply don't go online with the PS3? If you desperatly need internet/homenetwork access use a custom dns to block all psn sites. I can't recommend any but if you're paranoid you can do it yourself.
e.g. Some router are able to run a 2nd bind instance or you install bind on a rpi/pc.

If applicable, reason of ban:I never went online but one day was stupid and went online because I wanted to see the PSN store.I had never seen it.This was back when the PSjailbreak was the only way to hack the ps3.Went online and got an email saying I had unathorized software running on my ps3.Got console and account banned.

Hi my name is Logan and I have just had 2 of my PS3's banned on June 20th for apparently hacking/exploiting, something I dont think I did...

possibly my 3rd PS3 may be banned as well, despite not modding them or anything...

hell, the last time I used it was 1 month ago to watch netflix and play Mutant Blobs Attack!... now I can't access the PSN... and my copy of Marvel v Capcom 2 and Scott Pilgrim.

Yes I know if I hack my PS3 I can get ANY game I want BUT I believe myself to be honourable and use what i have attained legally.

Feeling bad for you. But yes, sony bans all consoles when logged in with an account which violates their TOS. Happend to me too, when all what I did was syncing trophys with CFW for 2 years. My OFW console was instantly banned too.
There is nothing you can do Sony won't unban you and you won't get your money back + your access to bought games/movies is also lost.

I can't even think of anything I could have done that would cause them to ban me, unless my account got hacked and someone used it to send inappropriate messages or something.

I did do some research though and found out the only thing I really lost in this ordeal was access to my digital-only content...

I can still access Netflix and play disc games so... yeah... and the 3-4 games I played online apparently shutdown THEIR servers a long time ago... except Helldivers... I'm gonna miss diving in to that game... (Yes! Nailed that pun/segway!)

harsh even adding you main account to a hacked PS3 is not a good idea..... wish sony would stop giving 2 fucks about the PS3 they gave up on the vita...

Neither of my PS3s are hacked though... so it's weird they banned both of them.

I got through to chat support to see what the issue is and all they said had hacked/exploited something...

I'll try and phone them when the support phone line is back up and try to talk to a manager/supervisor and hopefully get my PS3'S running.

Bans happen for a reason and saying you didn't do anything thickens the smoke. The only thing that would make sense is if someone logged into your account and went havoc. Ive been telling ppl on here years ago not to trust psn spoofers and now they get banned all b/c they thought they were safe using it for 1 or 2 years.

I bought an ps3 slim 2504 or something that was modded. I log my account, with ps games, ps plus, and download gow. Play it maybe 1 day, then console shutdown over and over.
Reset ps3, install latest fw original, and play gow.
No ban for me...this was on summer 2019.
Now i have an brand new cech-4304c, same account.

Making this post to help others know how little you need to do to get banned (when it happens), will update when probably banned or not if its its a month or so, though shocked I was not auto banned. Paniced and basically nuked internet access on my vita and ps3, and restored ps3 to ofw for now. Note to anyone who wants to cfw their ps3, even if its only to avoid the future cosmos battery shit, disable auto login at the very least before doing so.

Edit: as of a month I have not been banned but still wont be taking any risks for a while.

Just use for hmb, custom dlc, pkg stuff and etc. profile not wired with psn.
For online only .iso, or bd emu without cheats and unpaid dlc. Mount game, then switch to profile with psn, connect, play. After if you want swap game just power off console and mount next game on another peofile

If applicable, reason of ban: Told me on support that a email would tell me, still waiting for email but if i had to guess due to me running multiman with my main account activated on CFW machine. I just checked and still no email. Everytime i contact them they disconnect after telling me ill get an email.

had no personal internet where i lived so went to a buddies house. in 2017 ps3 became hackable since i had a ps4 and wanted to back up my physical discs. as soon as i got on the following day i was banned. only did backups of discs on sub account. Found out later that day that all other PlayStation systems i owned were banned as well. made no sense till i read that reddit ama the other day and realized they thought i was prolly a hacker when i just like playin homebrew games or emulators of older systems in better quality and dont know coding at all..... So makes sense now. Played siege all night while copyin PS3 discs and went to bed, woke up to banned account and systems. all systems the account was primary on. so luckily my ex gf ps4 was fine since my account was not primary.
Main account got banned due to it being primary account holder activated on the system PS3 Phat as PS4 was not hackable as i was playing online siege.
Got new account and gave up on sony given this behavior and news we just got.

I never had problems using hen, you can check my profile in psnprofiles, as I'm one of the mods I can help people to get in the leaderboards if they help me with voluntary donations.

Sony doesn't seem to do ban waves, it's more a per system basis.

I Just wipe my driveclean and add no psn accounts what i don't get is why ban every console connected that's just asking for piracy by sony
